Before the season started I predicted the Bucs would be 5-11 with another top 10 pick. I had their defense top 10 and their offense in the mid 20s. The reason I had their record so lopsided and their offense so bad was simply Lovie/McCown duo. I know I am beating a dead horse but I didn't understand the hiring of Smith from the get go. I think Scott Reynolds is right on the money when he says that he fears that the NFL has passed Smith by. There are several reasons why I dislike Lovie, but not to discredit his personality he seems like a extremely nice guy but as the old saying nice guys finish last. This off season could make or break the Bucs for the next 10 years and I honestly don't trust Lovie at all with this task.. Sorry1. First is his ability to evaluate talent. I have always questioned his ability to do say even when he was at Chicago. He has always been one to spend money and trade for mediocre players. Cutler, Gaines Adams (2nd round pick Dominik pure genius), Gabe Carimi (1st round bust LT), and those are three pretty big misses with Chicago. His drafting is about like Gruden's was with us. Go back and look at his years at Chicago and tell me that doesn't scare the hell out of you. This brings me to my point on college coaches. I have always said that if you can find a college coach who could make the transition to the NFL you would reap the benefits for a long long time and be successful. Just look at Pete Carroll, Jim Harbaugh, John Harbaugh, Doug Marrone, Chip Kelly. There is a big reason I have always felt this way and that is they can evaluate talent better and assemble a team more efficiently. I know I have some Schiano haters and that's fine but I will say this. There is no way in hell Schiano would have been 2-14 and 0-6 in our division. He had to makings to be a good NFL coach as long as he continued to grow in that role. He drafted well, but also coached the hell out of the younger guys like Glennon, Banks, Barron, Leonard Johnson. 2. I feel that Lovie and Licht are wanting to trade out of that spot so bad they can hardly stand it. I see them trying to trade for RG3 or maybe for god's sake Cutler. Say what you want but DO NOT put it past Lovie to try and justify a move like that. I think they realize that they made some huge mistakes last year in free agency, and now they will have to pay for it. I think them taking a staying in the top spot in the draft is about 20%. I think that they want picks and value rather than finding this team a franchise quarterback.3. This is my biggest beef Lovie. His flat out arrogance and lies. I can't stand to watch his press conferences anymore. It started when he got hired and the shots he took at Schiano saying this was a bad football team but you know what Schiano is laughing all the way to the bank. Remember when he said Revis had a place here, Glennon was out future quarterback, Micheal Johnson was the next Simeon Rice. The Glennon saga really eats me up. I think the kid can play as long as he has help. His stats 60% completion, 10 TD, 6 int, 1500 yards in the starts he had. Remember the games he had to play. Won at Steelers, Lost in overtime to Saints defense could stop anybody, blown out at home by Flacco, Vikings game in which nobody would have done well in that game with your offensive line giving up sacks left and right, and finally the Browns game. Yes, it was his worst game but I will take 2 tds 2 int 53% completion and 260 yards over McClown's ass. Remember was it Glennon's fault that Lovie gave up a blocked punt and blocked field goal in that game or that the defense gave up 300 yards and 2 touchdowns to Brian Hoyer. 4. I think the Glazers are probably sick right now thinking what they have to look forward too. It's mediocrity at best with Lovie at the helm. I just don't feel like he is the man to lead us to a winning season. How in the world do you stand up there and feed us that crap that this was a 4-12 football team and justify the moves you make then make this team worse. How do you go 0-8 at home? or 0-6 in the division? Say what you will a lot of that is coaching and if this is what we have to look forward to, do you think this coaching could even grow a franchise quarterback, does it even matter? Lovie will not be able to get this turned around, and we will be in the same boat next year when we fire him. He is not the right man for this job, and truthfully I honestly don't know who would want the job anymore. This used to be an attractive position in the NFL, but it has become somewhat of a laughing stock along with the Raiders. Sorry fellow fans but I am not even happy having the first pick because I know who is going to make this pick. This team is in trouble and the future does not look bright for us next year or the coming years with this team. If I am Lavonte David what reason would I have to stay here and continue to be disappointed and lose year after year. One of the best draft picks we have ever made and we fired the guy just after 2 years, and hand the reins to a guy who is let us all down and led us to believe we would be better off.
