He was a wizard
You got some magic beans out of the deal, didn't you?
LOL nah, Dom sucked. I'm going to exclude '12 and '13 because I believe those were Schiano picksHis notable first round picks:Adrian ClayborneJosh FreemanHis notable second round picks:Brian PriceArrelious BennDaQuan BowersHis notable third round picks:Roy MillerMyron LewisNotable fourth round picks:Kyle MooreLuke StockerYou can go through all his first 3 drafts and find half of his top 4 picks turned out to be busts. Look how thin we were at wide receiver and tight end this year? Look how pathetic our pass rush is. He sucks.
You could go through that with any team. Most his misses especially earlier in the draft those players were set back because of injuries. The only picks I think Schiano influenced since he has been here have been the big east selections. He's brought in multiple pro bowlers through the draft and we NEVER brought in big named free agents before Dom. And anybody who's been around knows Freeman was a Raheem pick.
There was a distinct split in drafting players between Schiano and Raheem's regimes. Either you are of the thinking (I lean closer to this) that Dom was just a body and a puss-bag who let coaches control him which explains why Raheem's picks were so poor and we've drafted really strong the last two years or you give equal credit all around and Dom's drafting record is abysmal.Either way, he needs to go.
Since Raheem's picks were busts and Schiano's were so strong, how come he never managed any more than 7 wins in a season.Of course we know what this year's record was.Oh, and by the way, Schiano let players like this go:LeGarrette Blount 24 rushes 189yards 7.9avg 36long 2TD Aquib Talib Probably Pro bowl this year.Michael BennettWallace GilberryGeorge Selvie Those 3 right there have more sacks than our entire DL.
My problem with Dom was that he had the same narrow focus on our top 10ish players that many on this board have. Our top 10 or so are fine- what killed us this year was the 40 behind them. The middle and bottom of our roster is pretty bad and when we had some injuries the poo hit the fan.
LeGarrette Blount 24 rushes 189yards 7.9avg 36long 2TD That is what he did yesterday. If new England get him cranked, it will make me sick.Under Schiano, he couldn't even get a carry? Come on
VJ, Goldson, Nicks (mrsa has hurt him, very unlucky), Revis through trade rape. He got a second round pick for Gaines. In 2012 draft he turned a 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7 into a 1, 1, 2, 5, 6, 7, 7. He **CENSORED**ing killed it. Also notice that despite all these deals he has given out recently, the Bucs are sitting in a great situation salary cap wise.
He grossly overpaid for Nicks and Goldson and made both of them highest paid at their positions. Same with Revis. VJax got crazy jack for a guy who is what he is. Look, he didn't get value. He paid top dollar for talent. Who are his good free agency finds, bargains or gems?
Nicks was the best OG in the league when we signed him. He's been set back by injury. You can't blame that on Dom.
Oh, you best believe that the Red Board Simpletons can blame anything and everything on anyone. Rational, logic thought don't go here. LOL @ leaving McCoy and Williams off of this list and saying that David and Martin were Schiano picks......but others point fingers at him drafting Barron too high. I think Dominick did a decent job at GM and will probably get picked up elsewhere in the same position. However, as GM, he had to be held accountable for the product on the field, period.

Couldn't get a carry before Schiano either. We barely used him in 2011
Resigning Clayton was his worst move ever. It was time for Dom to go.
He's young and still learning. He will get another job and probably do very well good luck to him
LOL nah, Dom sucked. I'm going to exclude '12 and '13 because I believe those were Schiano picks
That's ridiculous.
He was a great cap guy. Did a decent enough job. I said long ago his future was tied to #5. and it looks like that may have been the final nail in the coffin.

He is pretty tight with all the front office types around the league, so I agree.
I can think of three reasons why Dominik had to go. Arellious BennBrian PriceMyron LewisThree more reasons:Golden TateJon AsamoahEric Decker
Benn, Price, Lewis, Bowers all set back by injuries. At least it wasn't like Dexter Jackson. What about McCoy, David, Martin, Foster, Barron, Mike Will, Clayborn, and so on who have been more than solid and some pro bowls?
Martin was a waste of a pick, Barron is TBD (I personally like him), and Clayborn sucks. That was Dom's problem is that he was top heavy with his hits but missed way too often. And Arrelious Benn wasn't set back by injuries. He just wasn't good. Whether you blamed it on Juice Williams while he was at Illiniois or not, it's not like he produced greatly there. And again, I give him roughly 2% credit for the Schiano picks. Think he had a lot more control when Raheem was here.
When Dom took over nearly 5 years ago:We sucked in the trenches on offense. We sucked in the trenches on defense. We sucked at QB.Not much has changed.Time is up.
