Putting the team above himself.  If Lovie wanted to secure Lovie a job for a long time, he could have stacked the defense over the last 2 drafts and showed that his defense is top 5 in the league and on the way up. (assuming we still went 2-14 and 6-10 doing it this way).  Instead, he hired the best Offensive Coordinator he could (paid him the most money) and 95% of his draft was on the offensive side of the ball. He used the #1 pick on a potential Franchise QB instead of a franchise DE.  The next 2 years would have been a defensive focused draft.  He put the team first..  Knowing that the defensive talent was lacking, but the Bucs needed a franchise QB and the Bucs needed offensive weapons and OL.  I would also like to thank Lovie for standing up for Winston throughout the draft process and standing by his man.  He did not listen the media false narrative on Winston and instead they did their own separate due diligence and made their own decision.  I can tell you right now, Jameis Winston balled his eyes out when Lovie was fired... He LOVED Lovie Smith and will forever be grateful to him.  Hard way to learn that the NFL is all business..  Thank you Lovie Smith!!
