Who ends up with 3rd place and who ends up with 4th place?  Both teams will be 1-5 in division.  Relatively meaningless, but does matter for next year's scheduling.

Depends on SOS at the end of week 17.

Shouldn't come down to SOS should it?  That's way down the tiebreaker list.  SOS is used for draft purposes mainly.  I can't remember if it's common games or conference games first.

How is it that Atlanta has a softer SOS than us?  When they won the division last year and we were...what...3rd?  I'm seeing draft projections that have us with the same record but them drafting ahead of us.  That seems rather inequitable.

Because the Redskins went from first to last?

Right now Atlanta has an easier SoS so they'd be in front of us. I highly doubt 2 games will change the SoS much at all. The Falcons SoS is .533 and the Bucs is .577. Just an FYI...the Bucs have the toughest SoS in the NFL.

FWIW, I ran the numbers...I'm fairly sure we'd come in 4th cause they'd have a better conference percentage than us.  They'd still pick before us in the draft, but we'd get 4th place in the division.

So Schi Schi is a good coach then!!

In the standings, the Bucs will have a worse conference record, so they will technically finish in 4th place and get the 4th place schedule next season. For drafting purposes, the only difference in the schedule between the 2 are the Bucs played the Eagles and Lions and the Falcons played the Packers and Redskins.  Otherwise, the 2 will have the same S.O.S.  Therefore, since the Redskins are a lot worse than the Eagles and the Lions and Packers will be about a push, the Falcons will have a worse S.O.S. and therefore will pick before the Bucs.

You're going to get lit up for that one, but I would agree it (a very tough schedule) is one of several things that go into the basket of things that were out of Schiano's control.

We lose tiebreakers in the draft to just about everyone because of our strength of schedule.
