The Tampa 2, assuming that is what will be run, is capable of being modified to have one of the covers play press man. It actually frees up a safety for run support and to come up and double up high powered TE's. I would hope like heck that Lovie's DC will run something more mixed and modern to tackle the current offenses in the league.

Lovie is good at the free agent recruitment on defense. He landed Julius Peppers by camping outside his house and knocking on the door 1 minute after midnight when free agency opened with contract in hand.

I get your point but it isn't the staff that's paying Revis....its the Glazers. They didn't get their monies worth with Schiano & Dom, I would assume they want to at least see what Lovie can do with him.
Pass rush is not our most glaring weakness. If Lovie is smart he'll fix our oline. Our defense was middle of the pack last year, our offense was dead last. We couldn't run the ball, couldn't pass the ball, and the line of scrimmage was always being set back 2 yards at the snap...no offense will be able to succeed with our oline.
How the hell did Martin make it to the pro bowl if our line is so bad?? I agree it needs to be addressed but its not as bad as some you make it seem. Pass rush has been our most glaring need since Rice left.
Your crazy man....our Dline is one player away from being pretty darn good. Oline, on the other hand, is 4 players short of a starting caliber nfl Oline...and yes, it IS as bad as everyone is making it out to be.

but its not the glazers who will decide that. it will be the coaches and GM to decide if they'd rather have Revis or 16 million dollars more to be used to build the team with players that they want. The money is the Glazers but Salary money is generally the GMs money to use funded by the owners. 16 mil a year is like 3 good players. If they are going to use a defense where Revis will be in man to man almost all the time, then Revis will definitely be here. If not, then they may like the idea of using money for multiple pieces now or in the future.
