1) Winston is the vocal leader of the Bucs. He is the face of the Bucs. Its time for him to be vocal.
2) He's been suspended 3 games, and isn't appealing. That's done. He commented "I know the NFL has a process that they have to go through and I respect that process. It's not my job to speculate on that process,..." Well the process is done now.
3) There is no court case pending, so he has no reason to stay silent because there is no pending litigation.
He owes it to the fans, especially ticket holders to explain exactly what happened. Because of the suspension, they are impacted. To just say that he wants to put it past him and focus on football is not enough. He owes people an explanation, whether he is innocent, whether he did it, or whether was so drunk he doesn't remember. Whatever it is, there is no reason he can't come out and talk about what happened.
If Winston really wants to move past it he is going to have to speak verbally, not through twitter or through his representatives or his friends, teammates or coaches. He may want to move on, but as long as there is a mystery surrounding what happened fans are not going to move on. If he is honest and frank, then its possible that fans can deal with it and look toward the future.
He is going to have to speak out in the form of an interview and address the details of what happened or didn't happen. There is no reason he can't; There is every reason he should. And did Trevor Sikkema try to get an interview for today's "air it out" Cover 3 article and what response did he get if so?
