http://www.sportingcharts.com/nfl/stats/quarterback-air-yards/2013/ Sort on % of Air Yards.  (Being #1 isn't really a good thing)

Uhh I know you're trying to make a case against Glennon, but you did the opposite. What you're saying is our receiver suck at YAC. So we NEED WR's not a QB.

Worst offense in football last year no.32 overall just in case u didn't know. But nah lets not change a thing. Makes perfect sense (facepalm)

What QB is an improvement over Glennon in this years draft???

Where do I start? Bridgewater, Manziel, Carr, Bortles and Mettenberger.  I'd call Garoppolo, McCarron and Murray a push compared to Glennon. It's not like Glennon has a heads up on any FA or drafted QB with an entirely new system being installed.

Now your just displaying your lack off football knowledge.  There isn't a franchise QB in this draft.  We need other position help so much more.

Riiiiight. No possible way any of these guys couldn't be a franchise QB

Exactly.  And when you factor in that Williams was injured the second half of the season and we don't have a TE really (sorry Wright) then you see where maybe he is something to grow on.

I can see making a case against Glennon if there was a QB that was a sure thing like Jameis Winston but this class is ALL reach!

So says you. I've been watching football probably longer than you've been alive so I beg to differ. Please take off your rose colored Glennon glasses before reading.  While there is No clearcut Andrew Luck in this draft there are several NFL ready arms in this years draft class. Bridgewater has an NFL ready arm and can be effective when flushed from the pocket. He's known as an efficient passer that has garnered comparisons to Russell Wilson only taller. He has the ability to make plays outside the pocket and make defensive players miss when in the pocket. Bridgewaters only knock is his size. At 6'3" and under 200lbs some fear that he won't hold up to the pounding he will indure in the NFL.Johnny Manziel is a pure leader and the most polarizing QB prospect to come out since Tim Tebow. Is he Brett Farve or Ryan Leaf? Will teams see his flamboyant off field behavior as a deterrent? Based on Manziel's on field performances he has everything you want in an NFL QB. There is no doubt who is in control of the huddle when Manziel is on the field. Again the only knock on him is his height. At 6'01", some scouts question if Johnny will be able to be effective in the NFL. Height doesn't hurt Drew Brees or Russell Wilson. Blake Bortles is the bust or Boom prospect. He's played well with a Division I AAC team and the Talent level will be questioned. This pick scares me because while talented, is he a one hit wonder from the Fiesta Bowl win or a legit NFL talent. I'm leaning towards the later. Derek Carr- Carr has the Strongest arm to make any throw in the NFL. His only knock was his footwork can get sloppy at times. If you compare game tape from 2012 to 2013 you see cleary that he has worked hard to eliminate those footwork errors. His showing at the Senior Bowl practices has wow'd the scouts. After these 4 the talent level tappers off a little bit at QB. You have McCarron, Boyd, Garoppolo, Mettenberger, Murray. Of this group the currently injured Murray and Mettenberger are the best of the bunch.

Glennon didn't complete 60% so this thread is pointless.

The history of QBs who helmed the #32 offense and didn't suck for their whole careers is not very encouraging.

I did this work elsewhere but if you look at Glennon the story by the people who hate him is all he did was dink and dunk. That is false. You look at his % of passes thrown under 10 yards and it is right in the middle of guys like Rodgers, Brady and Luck. He wasn't throwing an abnormally high number of short passes. His passing over 20 yards hurt neither his completion % nor his YPC. Those were all in line with what you would see with other QBs.  The number that really jumped out at you was that his short passes YPC figure was 2 YPC worse than anyone else's in the group of 3 QBs I looked at. In other words, what killed us was that short passes WERE just short passes which sort of goes to the whole RAC problem.

Please stop using Russell Wilson as a gage for what is successful in the league.  His progress is going in the wrong direction.  Also, you just made my point for me.  None of these QB's are sure things.  Jameis is the only sure thing playing in college right now.  We have to focus on other positions and stop hoping that Montana is lurking out there.  It's never going to happen.  Manziel is a lot closer to 5'5" than 6'1" btw.  He's Brick from the Middle.

YPA and TD:INT ratio is more important to me. Glennon played some very tough defenses though. Tgr5Ba3.Png
