Caleb Williams is a blue chip #1 prospect.
To think otherwise is silly.

You have to look at what translates to the NFL and what doesn’t. Him running around waiting for guys to pop wide open looks great but it’s not the reality of the NFL. If he’s going to do that he’s going to be similar to Kyler Murray. It’s not the worst thing, still very good. But it’s going to result in injury and being stopped in big games.
Maye’s feet in the pocket, poise, ball placement, processing and release are all A+. He has throwing traits similar to Brady.

Mahomes, Allen, Hurts, Burrows, Lawrence, Herbert, etc. all make plays outside of the pocket. It's a pretty useful trait in the NFL.
With that said, Williams isn't Lamar Jackson at Louisville. He makes plenty of plays within the pocket.
I like Penix a lot too. Another qb that torched by Ducks.
He can thread it...
I've seen Penix going around 17 but the draft always moves qbs up.
I've seen Bo Nix as high as 18 but as much as I love my Ducks, I'd much rather have Penix (or Maye or Williams obv).
Penix would likely be a steal in the mid first
Same here! Led FBS in passing last year and throws a really nice ball. I know he's a bit older and has had some injury concerns but if he has another season like last year he will definitely hear his name called early in the 1st round. I probably like him better than all the QBs this past year tbh. A Tampa kid too.
I'm also really intrigued with Quinn Ewers.. Super high recruit, didn't play great last year but wasn't bad. But looked really good in the Texas spring game this year. With all the Arch Manning hype coach Sarkisian has already come out and said this is Quinns team and they should be a stacked team this season. The ball just zips out of his hands. He has all the arm talent and tools, hopefully he can put it together and ball out this year. He cut off the mullet that might be a good start. Again, not saying he's our QB of the future, just saying I'm intrigued to watch him this year and that he could easily put himself in that group.
Not a big fan of Bo Nix and Spencer Rattler but there's a lot of names in this class that I can see someone else emerge too. Them, Shredur Sanders, JJ McCarthy, KJ Jefferson Jordan Travis. I think its going to be an exciting class and I'm looking forward to the college season.
I don't want Penix to kill it because that's bad for my Ducks AND I want him to fall in the draft. In fact, just get a high ankle sprain week 8 like Bo Nix dealt with via a Washington player cheap shot... 😉
Maye is 1a
Williams is 1b
Penix is 1c
Everyone else isn't worthy of the first round IMO
Bo Nix was great for us last year but he reminds me too much if Jake Locker.
IF Bucs are in position to pick that high that'll tell me Mayfield led the league in INT's OR the offensive line particularly the right side was a disaster.
We aren't winning the SB with Mayfield so yeah I'm kind of hoping its a down year because Maye and Williams are both special QB prospects. However, looking at our division and schedule Bowles might manage 6 wins which would put us outside the top 5.
5-8 wins is purgatory.
Would prefer anything but that
If not for Brady we would have been in the running for 1st pick last year. Now everyone in the division is better and we're worse.
Brady was both the problem and the solution last year.
The biggest upgrade is at OC to offset Brady's leadership and intelligence.
I think we can win 10 games if a few balls bounce our way

It's going to be literally impossible for this team to win 10 games. Without Tom Brady, Bowles is a 6 win head coach and Licht is a 5.7 win GM. And thats just mean average. Licht has shown he can put together a 2-14 team and Bowles has shown he can coach a 4-12 team.
I don't think it's likely that we win 10 but I don't think it's impossible.
The schedule isn't filled with teams that scare me at all...
The problem last year was largely Lefty's inability to design an offense around Brady being immobile.
It was pretty easy to see... the offense is going to improve this year - I'd bet any amount of money on it.
That will help the defense...
All that plus a weak division means 10 is POSSIBLE.
More than likely I see 7 or 8 wins.
