Gage wasn’t that good previously so not sure the line of thinking there
will admit the Wr comps have went up last year so maybe that drove his price range
I agree

Rondé Barber, a guy paid by the team, said the Bucs may look to the draft for a quarterback to replace Tom Brady.
Then when Barber’s Bucs-friendly brother chimed in, Joe paid even more attention.
Tiki Barber is a host on WFAN radio in New York, the voice of New York Sports, and was adamant that Brady is shot, it’s sad, and it’s time to move on.
“He’s likely done in Tampa because why would you run that back if you’re the Tampa Bay Buccaneers?,” Tiki Barber said.
“It’s getting pathetic,” he added of Brady’s play.
A former Brady teammate in Tampa, retired Pro Bowl cornerback Richard Sherman, sees the decline in Brady. Sherman sounded a little melancholy about it on the podcast that bears his name.
He said Brady’s performance in the playoffs last week makes him think it might be time for Brady to hang it up or move on.
“A lot of passes where he wasn’t touched, nobody was front of him, he stepped in the rhythm and was just off,” Sherman said. “And you hate to see it. You know, you hate to see a fall from grace, especially the greatest of all-time but it happens to everybody. There’s not many 45-year-olds playing the game. …
“That might be it, at least for him in Tampa.”
Looking more and more like he's gone.
Lefty wasted the last good year he may have had left physically.
Unless he finds an ideal situation (like SF), he should hang them up.
Another year here would most likely be wasted barring a great OC hire.
He is average and was all year , I don’t wish to see another year of him missing throws , taking sacks , throwing dirt balls , all because he has the mobility of a sloth
I don’t wish to see another year of him
Of course you don’t. You’ve ripped him since the day he signed with the Bucs.
Some stupid Philly thing, I guess.
He is average and was all year
Advanced metrics/stats/film say otherwise

You know what I (as well as the overwhelming majority of actual Bucs fans) won’t miss?
A dipshit OC who couldn’t scheme his way out of a paper bag.
A low-IQ OC who thinks Play Action doesn’t work unless you run well
A moron OC who stubbornly reverses (or ignoring) clearly, successful trends in play-calling models (1st down passing %, play-action passing %, you don't need to establish the run to successfully PA-pass, 3rd and short conversions via running game wrinkles and tendency-breakers) to 1990 standards. Then when asked about those things scoff proudly.
A window licking OC who constantly had your Redzone Tight and abundance of 2nd & long (you're in "& long" because your prolific number of reduced formation, no horizontal set-dressing, run plays on 1st down failed...yet again) sniffed out or actually called out, and then sniffed out, by ILBs and Safeties.
A short bus riding OC who had THE LOWEST Play-Action pass % in the league despite the greatest PA QB of all time; 41 out of 41 of QBs with 200 Drop Backs.
A comically predictable OC who had the highest % of perfectly covered pass plays in the NFL (and way more than the median) which is correlated to our cataclysmic drop in 3rd and long conversion rate.
—————
I’ll miss the QB who actually played 75% of the season at Top-10 levels despite having the worst OC in the league
Vs.
You’ll obviously miss having googly eyes over Lovie Leftwich standing on the sidelines looking confused while figuring out which of the 6 plays in his playbook to run.
(Shoutout to @nobody - We miss you buddy)
Thank you DH, Lefty deserves whatever ass ripping he gets. Good one. I can’t imagine any NFL team which would hire him for OC or HC. He’ll probably serve as the required minority interview for those positions. He can’t do either effectively.

these ex players saying what I’ve been saying all year , Brady is not the answer anymore
So in King’s mind, the Bucs need to wave goodbye to Brady and start shopping just about any player that can bring back draft picks.
“This group’s Super Bowl window, in my opinion, has closed,” King said. “I would start evaluating what pieces do we have where we can get the most back?
“I would start stripping this roster down of some of my higher-priced guys that I think still have value, and I would start my rebuild now.”
King said the rebuild begins with being real about Tom Brady. The Bucs should explain they believe his time is over.
“Let’s be honest, man,” King said. “Why does everybody beat around the bush? Tom Brady is the most accomplished quarterback at the professional level we’ve ever seen, and nobody in modern football is getting to 10 Super Bowls, and they’re definitely not winning seven.
“In spite of that, you still should be honest about what he is now. He’s a shell of himself. Especially when he’s encountered with pressure.
“It happens, man. You get old. You step off the sidewalk and you feel like you jumped off a ten-story building. It happens to everybody. It’s just a part of getting old. Yeah, in spurts he can still make some throws, and, yeah, every second or third game he can have a fourth quarter that makes you remember how great he was.
“But from start to finish, he’s not the same player. Age is undefeated. If you watch Tom Brady play, when he is under pressure and duress, he is completely out of whack. That’s just the reality of it.”
King, a native of St. Petersburg, said that at Brady’s age, in his mid-40s, he simply cannot handle pressure like he once did. That’s not hate, King added, that’s just being real.
“It’s not a criticism,” King said. “The truth doesn’t have emotions. It’s just the truth.”
Thank you DH, Lefty deserves whatever ass ripping he gets.
He was arguably the worst OC in the league.
Koetter did more with less.
I think (could be wrong) but Keotter's year as OC doesn't he have Dough Martin run for almost top in the league?
He also had Winston so that hurts, LOL, although I think rookie year Winston is little different than the rest of Winston. I vaguely recall him getting bunch of positive talk early . Tried to block some of Winston out.
For the local trolls, NOT defending Leftwich lol just recalling that Koetter as an OC for Lovie had a thankless job but did have some things going for him
I would think the divisional competition was probably better than this year too but dont know
I liked Koetter as a person, straight shooting approach, and he is stark contrast obviously to Leftwich. Looked back and this was him as OC for the Jaguars, the article generally being about his like for the passing game:
"Not that the Jaguars are going to throw all the time. Koetter noticed that they had 381 so-called running downs last season - first and second downs with one to six yards to go. They threw 191 times and passed 190.
"So on run downs, our goal is to be balanced. Now, as the game unfolds, you're not going to have many runs on third-and-10. You're not going to have as many runs in the fourth quarter when you're down two touchdowns. On the flip side of that, if you're in the four-minute offense [protecting the lead], you're going to run it on every play at the end of the game. So we want to be balanced because we believe that's the hardest thing to defense and also because we have one of the best running backs in the league. But the bottom line is you have to move the chains and you have to score points," Koetter said."
Brady is not coming back and even if he is, the Bucs are too capped out to put together a decent team. Not to mention Bowles doesn't know his head from his ass and ran a Super Bowl team into the ground this past season.
As bad as Brady was last year, it would have been a career high year in touchdown passes for Daniel jones
I just don’t think people truly realize how bad it’s going to get and question how long they’ve actually been Bucs fans
