As bad as Brady was last year, it would have been a career high year in touchdown passes for Daniel jones
I just don’t think people truly realize how bad it’s going to get and question how long they’ve actually been Bucs fans
Some people already forgot how bad it was in 2022. Yes, it could get worse record-wise, but so what. This year was worse than the record. Not a worse team than the record, but enjoyment-wise it was a bunch of crap watching the Bucs go 3 and out ten times in a row. But we were patient because we hoped Brady would be Brady in the playoffs. Nope.
I'd rather flat out tank for a draft pick than go through another season like the last one. 2022 was not a fun year. I'd rather see some young guys come out and play hard and have fun even if they lose more games. That's the way I feel right now after that dud of a season. If you think 2022 was a one-off and bringing Brady back will bring the Bucs back to 2021 form then of course bring him back at all costs, but I just don't think that. I think those days are gone.
Schefter confirms the #Dolphins won’t be in on Tom Brady. They are committed to Tua Tagovailoa.

That's the funny thing.
A "down year" for Brady is 4,700 yards, a 3/1 TD to INT ratio, and Top-10 in nearly every advanced metric category.
And, that was while working with arguably one of the worst OC's in franchise history.
Root like hell for a niners win today. No way niners won’t run it back with Purdy if they make superbowl with him
sorry Tom but it’s either make the playoffs with Tampa or battle for a wildcard with the raiders. Make the right choice bud
Tampa is no guarantee to make playoffs , they’re 8 win team .
I have had enough of the Brady drama , and the Brady free rides , when he is part of the offenses problem.

Would love to have him back, as long as we have the right OC.
I'm still leaning towards him announcing retirement.
Again, sad last year was wasted with an idiot OC.
simple fix for Bucs ...Brady had poor coaching, less talent last year and going through divorce.
still wasn't as brutal bad and i think these are the fixes
1 - hire Todd Monken as OC
2 - Bring Back Gronk - 1 year, $10M (voidable year on, $5M Cap hit)
3 - sign OBJ - 2 year $30M,(voidable year on, $13.3M cap hit)
4 - Draft LT Broderick Jones from Georgia. Ensure you do everything in your power to get him i.e. Wirfs in 2020
5 - Restructure Shaq Barrett - save $6.5M
6 - Restructure Carlton Davis - save $6.7M
7 - Restructure Chris Godwin- save $9.5M
8 - Release OT Don Smith - save $10M
9 - Restructure Ryan Jensen - save $5.7M
10 - Release Cam Brate - save $2.0M
11 - Restructure Russell Gage - save $4.5M
12 - Restructure Vita Vea - save $8.7M
13 - restructure Leonard Fournette - save $2.7M
14 - sign Brady to 1 year deal $20M, with voidable year on, cap hit goes from $35M to $17M. - save $18M
with these moves, we are break-even on the cap. Still would need to address Lav David, Jamel Dean, and a few others on the defensive line. It's going to be tight but they can pull a Rams and Saints and get under the cap easier than you think.
With Monkin leading the charge
QB Tom Brady
RB Fournette/White
WR Evans, Godwin, OBJ, Gage
TE - Gronk
T - Jones, Wirfs
G - Mason, Hainsey
C - Jensen
Brady looked cooked last year but it's a matter of if they think they can make another run with him and chalk up last year to less talent, playcalling and divorce or if he is actually cook.
deep down, Brady will know the answer.
by them getting rid of the entire offensive coaching staff, makes you wonder if they already know Brady is gone.
You can’t keep kicking the can down the road , bite the cap bullet now and get young . Brady is no longer good enough to make players around him better
Brady looked cooked last year
No he didn’t.
Again, he was Top 5-10 in nearly every meaningful advanced metric category.
He’s still capable of playing at an elite level and carrying a team.
Look at this past season. With Trask or Gabbert at the helm, this was a 2-3 win team at best.
Canning Loser Lefty is the epitome of addition by subtraction.
Agree with some of the moves you suggested.
We all know where you stand on Brady dude. Talk about beating a dead horse.
I think Brady gives us best chance at super bowl not just playoffs. Our super bowl year should teach anyone that get clicking at right time good things happen. Team could be better next year with right players. Also could get younger and we need that.
If the Bucs problems in 2022 were only play calling (they got bumped in 1st round of playoffs by having their defense DEMOLISHED) he would already be back and Gronk would be with him. Thats what makes this top 3 kind of interesting:
"1 - hire Todd Monken as OC
2 - Bring Back Gronk - 1 year, $10M (voidable year on, $5M Cap hit)
3 - sign OBJ - 2 year $30M,(voidable year on, $13.3M cap hit)"
The actually have interviewed Monken, so maybe there's something to it. And supposedly they've asked OCs what they would do with Brady
Listen Brady clearly didnt play as well as he did the years prior. Leftwich was brutal but he wasnt the only issue.
without Brady, we lose the Arizona, Saints, and Rams game no doubt. I dont think he necessary cost us games but look no further than his playoff performance to know that wasn't typical Brady. What on earth was that INT in the redzone. brutal.
Brady wasn't good enough to make players around him better since he's been with the Bucs. The guy would win superbowls with no namers with the Patriots. With Tampa, he had 3 HOFs - Gronk, AB, Evans - two guys playing like all pros - Godwin and Fournete, and a stellar offensive line; oh not to mention a defense that came alive in the playoffs.
He is no longer the player he was in 2015. yeah we all agree on that but he is still better than any QB that would be wearing pewter next year so let's keep us relevant.
I disagree with you DH to say Brady didnt take a step back last year, he certainly did. The casual fan that didnt watch buc fans would say he was washed...i say he is losing a step but still good enough if we put the players around him.
like with the Niners, i'd say theyd be in the champ game with him.
Youtube has a "collaspe" video of what happened to the 2002 Buccaneers. It's uploaded by secret base. Check it out. Its 12 minute video showing how they fell from grace - list key contributors and their demise with the franchise - Gruden, Sapp, Lynch, McKay, Keyshawn Johnson, Simeon Rice, Dwight Smith, Ronde Barber, Mike Alstott, Brad Johnson, Keenan McCardell, Martin Gramatica, Monte Kiffin, Derrick Brooks
could easily see them doing one with this Bucs superbowl team with departures of - Arians, Leftwich, Brady , Gronk, AB, Marpet, Suh, JPP, injuries to Jensen and Shaw, and god knows who else this off-season!

Of course Lefty wasn't the only issue. But, he was hands down the biggest one.

Lolz...
He is no longer the player he was in 2015. yeah we all agree on that
Umm...no we don't. He had 2 of his best seasons in 2020 and 2021.
Hell, we was better in 2016 than he was 2015.
I disagree with you DH to say Brady didnt take a step back last year,
Cool. We'll agree to disagree.
It's pretty hard to play QB when your weapons are covered at a historically higher rate than NFL average.
Some say, "well, we need a mobile/running QB". I'm in the camp of, "we need an OC who can actually scheme".

The collapse of the 2002 team is 100% on Gruden.
He was an awful coach that was adored by the casuals. They thought he was some "offensive genius" because he walked around scowling and yelling Spider 2Y Banana.
Should've won at least one more Lombardi with that squad. Absolute elite defense wasted by Gruden's below average offenses.
Whole thing finally went to shit once Monte, the real reason we won it all in 2002, quit.
