Impending Free Agents and Who to Track and Sign (Defense)Dec 18, 2015 Wilkerson_Zpsogw7Nisx.jpgAs I promised in my Offense article, here, I will be writing about who is an impending defensive FA and who the Bucs should track and sign. As in the other article, this one will disregard cap room and if the player will actually hit the market. Here we go!Defensive EndWe all know this is a need. William Gholston is our bright spot, as he is coming along as a pass rusher, and Jaquies Smith is a one trick pony. Good thing for us, there are some big fish in the sea.Notables:Jason Pierre-Paul, GiantsMuhammed Wilkerson, JetsJustin Tuck, RaidersGreg Hardy, CowboysMike Devito, ChiefsLetroy Guion, PackersRobert Ayers, GiantsCedric Thorton, EaglesJeremy Mincey, CowboysAdrian Clayborn, FalconsKroy Biermann, FalconsOlivier Vernon, DolphinsJesus and theres more...Jared Crick, TexansAndre Branch, JaguarsMalik Jackson, BroncosBilly Winn, ColtsDerek Wolfe, BroncosVinny Curry, EaglesJack Crawford, CowboysRed Bryant, ArizonaShould we get any of them?Yes yes yes yes yes. Yes. Muhammed wilkerson is a game wrecker, and would have a hefty cap price, but I don't care. Derek Wolfe is a blooming every down end, and would be one of the gems in the FA considering price. Robert Ayers and Malik Jackson are 30 but have had breakout years this year, it just goes on and on. If we don't land one of these people this year, I'm never doing another Buccaneers madden franchise.Defensive TackleWith Gerald "This is only a minor injury that I have every week of the season and it affects me but I stay on the field for the team" McCoy, and Henry Melton, Tony McDaniel, and Akeem "Personal foul that costs us the game" Spence, we are stacked at DT, but hey, we always could use more talent.Notables:Haloti Ngata, LionsBrandon Mebane, SeahawksNick Fairley, RamsTerrance Knighton, RedskinsSteve McClendon, SteelersAhtyba Rubin, SeahawksBJ Raji, PackersIan Williams, 49ersJaye Howard, ChiefsSealver Siligia, PatriotsShould we get any of them?Like I said in a previous non in depth, but specific (an oxymoron, but if you read it here you'll see) article we should get a big, hulking guy to line up opposite of GMC and draw the double team. This would be Terrance Knighton. "Pot roast" would compliment GMC better than any Canadian every could.Outside LinebackerLaVonte David and not middle linebacker Danny Lansanah work well, Danny is turning 30 though, but is still effective. Not a big need, but when injuries and suspensions occur (cough cough Kwon "It was only an energy drink" Alexander) we could use some competent backups.Notables:Von Miller, BroncosChad Greenway, VikingsTamba Hali, ChiefsAldon Smith (He is already in contract talks I believe), RaidersBruce Irvin, SeahawksNick Perry, PackersMark Barron, RamsCalvin Pace, JetsCourtney Upshaw, RavensNigel Bradham, BillsTahir Whitehead, LionsFrank Zombo, ChiefsLaMarr Woodley, CardinalsSam Acho, BengalsJunior Gallette, RedskinsPhillip Wheeler, FalconsShould we get any of them?Since most of these are 3-4 rush backers, no, not really. But, hey you can't go wrong with Von Miller, or Nigel Bradham for pass rush scenarios. But for an every down backer, we should get Tahir Whitehead.Inside LinebackerWith Kwon Alexander and Bruce Carter, ILB is not a liability, but as always, you can improve.Notables:Derrick Johnson, ChiefsSean Weatherspoon, CardinalsRolando McClain, CowboysShea McClellin, BearsJerrell Freeman, ColtsDemario Davis, JetsDanny Trevathan, BroncosPaul Worrilow, FalconsBrandon Marshall, BroncosShould we get any of them? Many of these guys play in a 3-4 defense, so our best bets would either be Rolando McClain, Paul Worrilow, or Jerrell Freeman. But either of the Broncos 'backers would do well.CornerbackThe heading explains it all. You know we need this. (sorry Sterling Moore, Alteraun Verner, Jonathan Banks, and JAB, but not he who must not be named)Notables:Leon Hall, BengalsSean Smith, ChiefsPrince Amukamara, GiantsGreg Toler, ColtsJerraud Powers, CardinalsMorris Claiborne, CowboysNolan Carrol, EaglesAdam Jones, BengalsTerrence Newman, VikingsTarell Brown, PatriotsWilliam Gay, SteelersJosh Norman, PanthersJanoris Jenkins, RamsBrandon Boykin, SteelersCasey Hayward, PackersJeremy Lane, SeahawksShould we get any of them?Sean Smith would be a dream, 6-3, and can actually cover, man o man o man. Leon Hall would be a great addition too.Free SafetyI thought that Bradley McDougald was coming into his own, but no, no, not really.Notables:Eric Weddle, ChargersEric Berry, ChiefsReggie Nelson, BengalsWalter Thurmond, EaglesTashaun Gipson, BrownsLouis Delmas, DolphinsShould we get any of them?Eric or Eric would be nice, but I'm gonna go with Eric. Weddle. His experience would be invaluable to our secondary.Strong SafetyMajor Wright is a good backup, nothing more, nothing less.Notables:Charles Woodson, RaidersJames Ihedigbo, LionsGeorge Iloka, BengalsTyvon Branch, ChiefsBacarri Rambo, BillsShould we get any of them?George Iloka clocks in 6-4 and under 30 years old. Perfect. Jason Licht, I'm calling you out, get him!RecapYou and me both know, defense is our need. We make backup quarterbacks, who would throw like four picks against a good team, have a 158.3 passer rating, 90% completion, 300 yards, 4 TDs, no picks, etc. Break the bank honestly, I don't care anymore, no more, no more (bum bum), no more, no more...link
