According to scouts who have evaluated Greene, he is problematic on intermediate routes. Great kid but he struggles to hide his routes at times and also fails to use his frame to shield defenders from jumping his routes as well in the intermediate zone. Chucky pointed out in his Gruden's QB camp that those picks were mostly intended for Rashad that were picked and Winston reluctantly admitted that they were, but quickly defended his receiver saying he has sure hands and it was his bad. I think this shows a couple things. One is maturity and not throwing a teammate under the bus when he plays a role and also it points to the issue that his receivers were good but not great. Rashad was good to take the top off a defense but nota true burner and suspect in his routes and technique in traffic. OLeary is projected as a HB at the next level. His frame is maxed out. His speed is not exceptional but he is a solid inline blocker with great hands and is a throwback who plays without gloves. He is an old school type. He has played with guys like KBenjamin who is like Evans on Tampa Bay and has had a better run with fewer picks. My point is if Winston gets coached and has VJ and Mike Evans with a decent TE who is not in the tub, we might have something special. Key is this team must get blocking and desperately needs help on the right DE spot. I was really unimpressed by Mariotta in his interviews with Gruden. Guys who need signals from the sidelines telling them the defense they are facing and who don't know how to huddle are typically horrific at the next level. Guy really seems like he wants to stay with what he has done and I actually think he is trying to tank a bit so his coach Chip can move up for him. Gruden commented that Mariotta would be a player in the league. Just to be clear that isn't saying much. Guys like lifetime clipboard holders are players in the league. His comments re Winston were much more prolific.  Never said Gruden was a master on QB commentary, but he seems to have decided after watching the Freeman meltdown on National TV in Minneota to start calling it real. Never forget that broadcast where he is like screaming into the mic to get this guy out of the game. He seems to be mentoring Winston. Felt like for the first time Winston got a real sit down and was told by a real head coach that this nonsense of behavior won't continue.  I also felt like the young man wants this badly. Guys who come in with something to prove and have talent have done well. Remember Sapp?  Remember Brady?I hope I am right but to be honest, I think the franchise needs a spark. MM won't provide that.
