Tony Romo would be the 4th best QB in our division too.

Romo had a higher passer rating than Ryan and Newton this season.

Watch the games... Who would you rather have?

The numbers say Romo had a better season in 2013. Maybe he wasn't better in 2012 or 2011 and maybe he won't be better in 2014, but for 2013 he was better.

Do you watch the games on a newspaper?

Dallas just went 8-8 with the #32 defense. How do you think they accomplished that? When the Bucs had the #32 defense in 2011 they went 4-12.

He's good but he'd be the 4th best QB in this division. Hide behind numbers all you want but if you come around to using your eyes you'll see Newton and Ryan are better. Give him that #32 ranked defense in this division and his record wouldn't much better than 4-12 too.

I'm not really sure what point you are trying to make, unless it's that we need to upgrade our QB position with a better player than Romo, which I fully agree with.  I don't see how anyone can believe Glennon is that guy.

My point is comparing a guy in his rookie year to  the other 3 great QBs in our division is asinine.

Expecting to be a playoff contender with the worst QB in your division is pretty idiotic too

whats your expectations for a rookie? Please tell me.

I think Glennon will prove a lot of you haters wrong next year. I'd love for the Bucs to bring in Michael Vick so Glennon can Foles him. I'd love for the Bucs to draft a QB in the 1st round too, the very end of the 1st round, because that is where the QBs in this draft belong and having a quality QB to develop and have on deck is never a bad idea.

I'd love to be proven wrong. Whatever it takes to win so new QB or being wrong about Glennon is fine with me. I wouldn't bet the farm on Glennon proving anyone wrong though. You have better odds of being mauled by a brown bear, mauled by a black bear, and getting struck by lightning all in the same day. If you think it can happen play the lottery right now!

If you really think those things have a higher probability than Glennon being able to win games...then your expectation level is completely out of whack.  You're the type of guy who would be bagging on Peyton right now for not delivering in the Super Bowl.

So these radio guys seriously think drafting a ROOKIE in 2014 will catapult our QB play beyond that of the 3 other divisional QBs?  R-I-G-H-T.... ;) ;) ;)

Everyone understands Glennon's career hasn't been decided yet. Anything can happen, though we all have our opinions. The bottom line is if you don't know you have a good QB, you don't stop looking for one. You don't want to be like the Bears or Redskins and pass on Ben Roethlisberger because you're holding out hop for Rex Grossman and Patrick Ramsey, respectively. Life isn't fair. Not everyone gets 2, 3, or 4 years to prove themselves. Until you show you're the man, you're always in danger of being replaced.

And that's why guys like Jeff Tedford are where they are and we're where we are, eating our popcorn...  ;D. He'll be up close and personal with Mike Glennon, his prior coaches who'll talk to him, & all his film...  ;D

I dont think there is anyone here who is comfortable saying Glennon should get 3/4 years to prove himself.  I just want one.  Just next year to see what he is with an NFL coaching staff and some blocking.  If Teddy/Bortles/JFF fall to us at #7, I have no problem taking one of them.  Reaching for any other QB at that slot would piss me off.

I hope no one is saying Glennon has to be replaced right now. But acquiring a franchise QB is a singular event. You can't just say oh I'll get one next year. If it were that easy we would have gotten one thirty years ago. You don't choose when it's going to happen. You have to be ready at all times because you may not get another opportunity.

His yardage was low but it was due to the defenses he was playing. I posted the stats in another thread and don't feel like searching for it right now but his yardage was pretty much on par with what those defenses were giving up. It just so happens he played more good defenses than bad ones. He played 6 games against top 7 pass defenses.

Actually if you look at Football Outsider's numbers, we faced the second hardest schedule (in terms of D).
