Lol'd at this
Everyone understands Glennon's career hasn't been decided yet. Anything can happen, though we all have our opinions. The bottom line is if you don't know you have a good QB, you don't stop looking for one. You don't want to be like the Bears or Redskins and pass on Ben Roethlisberger because you're holding out hop for Rex Grossman and Patrick Ramsey, respectively. Life isn't fair. Not everyone gets 2, 3, or 4 years to prove themselves. Until you show you're the man, you're always in danger of being replaced.
i agree with you...but just because a QB is draftable this year also doesnt make him franchise worthy. we cant just pick a qb at #7 and expect him to be a HOFer...especially when he is the 3rd or 4th qb drafted. its gotta be extremely lucky to draft the 3rd or 4th qb of a draft and have him turn out to be a HOFer.

It doesn't matter when you draft a QB you need luck for them to become a HoFer. We need to find the next Tom Brady.
I think Glennon will prove a lot of you haters wrong next year. I'd love for the Bucs to bring in Michael Vick so Glennon can Foles him. I'd love for the Bucs to draft a QB in the 1st round too, the very end of the 1st round, because that is where the QBs in this draft belong and having a quality QB to develop and have on deck is never a bad idea.
I'd love to be proven wrong. Whatever it takes to win so new QB or being wrong about Glennon is fine with me. I wouldn't bet the farm on Glennon proving anyone wrong though. You have better odds of being mauled by a brown bear, mauled by a black bear, and getting struck by lightning all in the same day. If you think it can happen play the lottery right now!
If you really think those things have a higher probability than Glennon being able to win games...then your expectation level is completely out of whack. You're the type of guy who would be bagging on Peyton right now for not delivering in the Super Bowl.
You're the type of guy who would label people or ASSume stuff. Not that I'd do to you I'm just pointing out the facts. I'll stick to facts and you stick to ASSuming stuff. :)

I dont think there is anyone here who is comfortable saying Glennon should get 3/4 years to prove himself. I just want one. Just next year to see what he is with an NFL coaching staff and some blocking. If Teddy/Bortles/JFF fall to us at #7, I have no problem taking one of them. Reaching for any other QB at that slot would piss me off.
I hope no one is saying Glennon has to be replaced right now. But acquiring a franchise QB is a singular event. You can't just say oh I'll get one next year. If it were that easy we would have gotten one thirty years ago. You don't choose when it's going to happen. You have to be ready at all times because you may not get another opportunity.
Most people are saying we need stability at QB. Someone who can win games and will be the leader of this team whoever that might be.

Every team is looking for the next Tom Brady. You don't stop looking but you also don't just focus on finding the next Tom Brady. That's how you stay in the basement. Look at teams who have won the Super Bowl recently. Their QBs weren't Tom Brady or Peyton Manning. They were guys who could make plays when they needed to. They were smart players. And they also had a great team next to them. Glennon had a decent first season as a starter. I do think it's too early to say he can't win for us. But I do agree if we CAN do better than why not but the problem is this. We're picking seven and the top three QBs are likely to be gone by the time we draft. Unless we give up assets (picks to make the team better, read earlier in my post about how important it is to have a good team) then I don't see the need to draft a qb in the first round. If we think Garroppolo or whatever his name is there in the second round and we think he's the franchise qb then you have to take that chance. However if he's not then you have to continue to make the team better. Glennon could be the next Joe Flacco who was good enough to get his team by. It's not Tom Brady that everybody wants but at least it wins you the big game because you had a great team to go with a decent qb.

did you know that tom brady didnt even start a game his rookie year? or that he didnt even average 200ypc his 2nd year? or that he didnt even achieve a 90QBR until his 6th season?

Flacco played amazing in the playoffs last year. He was much, much, much better than "good enough".

Arent you ASSuming Glennon cant win games? Oh...thats right, you have facts including lightning strikes and bear attacks.

Only to go back to being good enough after that. Like Eli Manning did. You get hot at the playoffs anything can happen.

Yep, and Cassel was not it. Maybe Mallett is, maybe not... I honestly think Glennon will become our guy, but I won't be convinced until his second season. Same goes for any QB...

I'm 18 miles from Gillette Stadium. I know more about Brady then anyone here. Valiant effort though!

Nope! Just like you hand picked info to make a point as invalid as it is we can cherry pick info to disprove you too. Not worth the time though.
