Kancey is a bust. Time to get over it. He can't stay healthy and he struggles vs stout interior lines. He's undersized and a situational player. Our backups came in and did more.
The part in bold in a good point and inarguable.
He's right if he's getting dominated physically like that then he is going to get hurt eventually. Then he should be more situation and limited like some players in the league are due to similar reasons. Sometimes its age. Sometimes its cause you can't hold up but if you still provide something valuable to the table in certain situations teams can let that slide a bit. You wont be paid like a all down player though. Does he do it well enough to be that ace and you save it for when its right which is sometimes costly. I dont know he hasn't been able to stay on field long enough to know. I hope he does and this isnt serious. He is important for our defense.
One report out that he's done for the season.
Few things here:
Kancey is a bust. Time to get over it. He can't stay healthy and he struggles vs stout interior lines. He's undersized and a situational player. Our backups came in and did more. Signing Wilkins would be a huge upgrade so long as he isn't giving BJs in the shower.
Goedeke might miss one week but probably not 2 imo.
The secondary isn't playing lights out but it's certainly improved and I'll take that all day.
I agree with DH... Barton at LT and Wirfs at RT.
Jets probably won't have Fields so I expect we struggle vs a backup QB but find a way to win.
Baker and Egbuka will be fine with rest. Godwin week 4. Wirfs week 3.
Blitzes from Bowles got home late so kudos to him but let's get real about a few things. That is a shit offensive line and we couldn't generate pressure with 4. Bowles blitzes got lit up for most of the game but he found paydirt late which is great... And this team is playing best when it matters most... Gotta love that.
Diaby is not an NFL edge RUSHER but he's a good rotational guy and can play the run. Vea is a run stuffer. Reddick is good but can't do it alone. So where does the pressure come from all season? Sure as shit isn't coming from Braswell or Hall.
I have a hard time calling guys busts due to injuries. When he's on the field we know how good he can be.
two things -
1 - BJs in the shower could really help catapult the teams chemistry!
2 - Call Kancey what you want...but to me a bust tends to be at the very least a first round pick that doesn't earn a second contract with the team. So for example, Baker Mayfield was 100% a bust for the Cleveland Browns....but might just end up being the best quarterback in our franchise history when it's all said and done. In Kancey's case, he's not reliable. Had a decent sophomore year but just may be out of the NFL in 2 years. NFL = Not for Long.
Yep he’s a reportedly done for the year. I’m personally over this guy. He’s too injury prone for me.
Next draft better be DLine and MLB heavy

How good is that?
As already mentioned, he’s undersized and gets dominated by bigger interior lines.
Has a sub-.50 defensive grade (PFF) every season (49.7, 46.0, and 43.4).
And, the guy can’t stay out of the tub.
Time to move on and start thinking of his replacement. No way in hell am I exercising his 5th year option.
I like him on the edge as a speciality player... Def not giving him his 5th year option but I suspect Licht will

it's the reason you need to give it more than 1 or 2 years to assess a player. Justin Evans and Kendall Beckwith looked solid after their rookie years but injuries (part of the game) ended it. Wouldn't exactly call those great draft selections in 2017 as they were 2nd and 3rd round picks and they were off the team in short order.
Next year will be make or break for him. Needs to stay healthy and produce.

honestly it's likely already too late
He missed 3 games his rookie season and 5 games last year with now 15 this year.
His career started off injured....the writing is on the wall
maybe he amounts to something but make no mistake about it...the Bucs should look to add a starter next year with him in the rotation. To make the mistake of having him penciled in as starter for 2026 season would be foolish.

Evans and Beckwith were never good. Injuries are part of the evaluation.

they weren't elite but i remember leaving the 2017 season thinking we maybe had something in them; looks like their picks in the 2nd and 3rd round could have amounted to perennial starters
that's where i was going with that.
The Bucs tried an experiment with Kancey to see if they can integrate a smaller 3 tech into their large fronts to keep up with the teams using jet sweeps and counters. It doesn't seem to be working so look for the Bucs to draft a larger 3 tech in next year's draft to be in the starting line up at some point.
