At this point wish we would of used that second round draft pick last year on a bonafide DT instead of Braswell. How long are we going to wait on this guy to contribute?

trick question. We are not waiting
not all draft picks work out and brawell just doesn’t have it
Need to see Diaby put something together this year. Let’s see him contribute or we are in real trouble
Getting Brian Price vibes with Kancey SMH
Guy is really disruptive but he can't stay on the field. Definitely cannot count on him moving forward, put DT on the need list next year. Makes you appreciate Vita Vea a lot more but he just turned 30 and who knows how good he will be as he ages. Elijah Roberts has put on some good tape, I'm sure he will get his shot to see if he can make an impact.
MLB, DT, OLB biggest needs for 2026
Theres a good chance we may have to replace all 4 Lber positions. Yaya should probably be a rotational piece. As of right now Dennis is not good enough to start, Reddick may not resign and David probably retires.
I have a hard time calling guys busts due to injuries. When he's on the field we know how good he can be
I don't. He's a bust
it's the reason you need to give it more than 1 or 2 years to assess a player. Justin Evans and Kendall Beckwith looked solid after their rookie years but injuries (part of the game) ended it. Wouldn't exactly call those great draft selections in 2017 as they were 2nd and 3rd round picks and they were off the team in short order.
Evans and Beckwith were never good. Injuries are part of the evaluation.
they weren't elite but i remember leaving the 2017 season thinking we maybe had something in them; looks like their picks in the 2nd and 3rd round could have amounted to perennial starters
that's where i was going with that.
I remember wanting Budda Baker and having to settle by reaching on Justin Evans I just knew it would be a flop. At his best he was mediocre.
Beckwith blew out his knee in college so being shocked he got hurt in the pros, albeit somewhat of a freak injury, shouldn't be shocking.
Licht flopped 3 times on LSU LBs and he never learned his lesson. (Although I would call Kwon somewhat of a success based on where we drafted him).
In the end one of your best skills is availability so... Yeah, Kancey is a bust. Sucks because we all bought the hype and dismissed the poor grades from PFF

Braswell is a bust. The pick never made sense. He's tiny.
It's so damn hard to evaluate talent on stacked defenses... It just is. Specifically Georgia and Bama.

Yeah I would put three tech a higher need than ILB but OLB might shoot up the list to #1 but I think I want to see more from Reddick and Diaby before throwing in the towel with either one.
But I am confident that the Bucs are drafting a three tech starter in next years draft to play early and often next season and beyond. One with size that Bowles used to have before he deciced to try his experiment with Kancey.

That is a possibility but we will see what the front seven shows as the season goes on.
Jeremy Fowler yesterday:
"Bucs RT Luke Goedeke avoided major injury Monday night but is expected to miss time, possibly multiple weeks, per sources. The belief is that Goedeke re-aggravated a foot injury he battled during the practice week."
Luke didn't practice that week up until a light walkthrough on Saturday.
Hmm...where have I heard this story before?
I know the fanbase is shouting for Wirfs right now, but for fuck's sake, can we make sure these guys are actually ready to play and not rush them back into action?
ready to play and not rush them back into action?
I dont know, maybe we'd improve upon the 1st down rushing! :-)
Ow line:
Just my guesses:
Wirfs back for Week 4 Eagles. I don't see why they'd rush him back for the Jets even though they can't afford to have this be a trap game.
Goedeke- back for Week 7 Lions. Sorry I don't think this is a quick recovery. Can't risk another re-injury.
Mauch - back for Week 4 Eagles. It's a knee, but they haven't said what the actual issue is. If he's day to day it can't be too bad, but anything with the knee you better rest it.
So all in all, with the rash of injuries that seem to be going on league wide, I'll just hope the Bucs can weather the storm and come out with a healthy O-lne for the majority of the season.

And, 15 minutes later, Mauch is out for the rest of the year.

Yeah, it was.
This is not good news.
