I wouldn't mind this if we draft Mathews and sign a another starting caliber Olineman like Mack. But this wouldn't make sense if Glennon is still here. Vick wouldn't be long term so we'd be stunting Glennons growth for a year or 2. Bringing Vick in just to back up Glennon seems weird. Trading Glennon for a 3rd and drafting garopolo in the second to play behind Vick seems ok but all in all it just doesn't sound realistic or like the best option. I'm not as down on Vick as everyone seems to be just because when I've watched him the past two years he's been getting utterly abused in the backfield. His first year on the eagles he looked phenomenal and he doesn't look slower than that year yet. However, he seems to be at the point where he injures himself just by running too much in a game. If I'm looking at it unbiasedly and not as a bucs fan, i would say Vick to the bucs is one possible destination although it's probably not the route I would take if I we're part of the Bucs org.
He paid his debt and hasn't been in trouble since. Bottom line.
BS. He is a player on a steep decline and a **CENSORED**bag. Dont want him on my team, bottom line
Not BS . Nothing in my post you can claim is untrue. You just choose to personally never forgive him , and that's your right.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I don't care that he lost money or went to jail. He murdered hundreds of defenseless dogs. He is a worthless and despicable person in my eyes.
You realize dogs aren't humans right? They can't reason. They're animals. No different than a rat (an incredibly intelligent animal)
lol
I kept reading and I could not help but laugh out loud. You guys talk like he tortured children. He tortured an animal. AN ANIMAL. It's despicable...yes, I agree. But comparing that to molesting children or torturing a HUMAN BEING makes you seem like the lunatic, not Michael Vick.
Lastly...The "signs" of a sociopath have to do with how a person interacts with other human beings. It has nothing to do with how someone treats an animal (not a human being, AN ANIMAL)So lets dispel that bullshit argument immediately

He is clearly the choice. Mike Vick is not going to play 16 regular season NFL football games for any team next season. Go into like that. We're in the rare position of actually kind of wanting to see the QB we are replacing in FA get some meaningful NFL action still. If you look at his statistics (or better yet watch him play), when available, there is absolutely no question he can play quarterback well enough to get a good team into the playoffs. I don't understand how some are so dead set against a FA QB. I get that some don't like Vick, but damn. Like we're not going to start your boy if he truly does beat the vet out? Or is it that you think having 2 QBs going into the draft means no QB in the draft? Like we're (we here including Jeff **CENSORED**ing Tedford) going to pass on Aaron Rogers because we just signed a physically breaking down scrambling QB? I don't think anyone could make a reasonable argument that he is a negative for the "locker room". If anything I would make a strong case that he would be a clear and significant positive (both for just signing a vet QB in general and signing him specifically). If we can sign Mike Vick for a reasonable price (that allows us to be active also at other positions in FA), I'd be all over him. I also believe he gives the 2014 Buccaneers the highest team ceiling of the available FA QBs (by far imo).
Great post. A great FOOTBALL post. I anticipate some "counter post" that references an animal that can't think

I think he was referring to how you find out that many serial killers started with torturing animals before they moved to humans. But that is a whole different kind of torture. What Vick was doing was certainly cruel , but it wasn't literally torture , and it wasn't done for the simple pleasure of watching something suffer.. It was more ignorance. If you talk to most people in the dog fighting culture , they will tell you how much they LOVE their dogs , ignorant to how cruel they are actually treating them.
Okay. Fair Enough. If he meant that most serial killers "start out by torturing animals" I certainly can not dispute that. everyone says that. The thing that makes this dicey is I bet (I want to guarantee but I don't have the grounds to do so) is that those dogs LOVED fighting. I'm sure they didn't love being starved and electrocuted but I'm sure those tails were waging after each fight.
This move would make sense for us...but I hope it doesnt happen. I don't like Vick at all. Will be the first one to say I hadnt got over what he did. I am glad he got a 2nd chance but even more so since it wasnt with my team. He is a guy who has not gotten any better (over time) in reading defenses and making smart plays while limiting turnovers. He is the same player up stairs, only his ability to allow his athleticism to get him out of trouble has gone downhill with age. The only "win" I can see with this move is it will be more fun to play Madden next season.
Still an exciting player when healthy : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xj8oXA5Oing ...and we he gets hurt , we can evaluate Glennon some more . Seems like a decent go between while we find out if Glennon is the man or if we need to draft a new guy. I'd be ok with the move.
I don't think we are giving him enough credit as far as what he would bring to the locker room...He may have been a "thug" and an "enemy of Riley Cooper" in the past but he has been coached by Andy Reid and has made 200 million in his lifetime...He can do something for Tampa.

I am honestly not sure what he would bring to the locker room. While he could be a good voice for what can happen if you dont focus on football....he could just as easily be an example to the young guys that if you are talented enough someone will always give you multiple chances.
