Lastly...The "signs" of a sociopath have to do with how a person interacts with other human beings. It has nothing to do with how someone treats an animal (not a human being, AN ANIMAL)So lets dispel that bull**CENSORED** argument immediately
Actual animal torture is one of the diagnostic signs of sociopathy. He tortured animals for no reason - he wasn't eating them, they were not pests to be rid of - other than amusement and profit. Is he a sociopath, who knows. He's a scumbag for sure and a QB with marginal skills over his career.
I am honestly not sure what he would bring to the locker room. While he could be a good voice for what can happen if you dont focus on football....he could just as easily be an example to the young guys that if you are talented enough someone will always give you multiple chances.
Seriously? NFL football players loved having Mike Vick as their quarterback. Ask them. He is hugely popular and respected in the Philly locker room. Free agents signed there because Vick was their starting quarterback (at least I seem to remember hearing from some of the FA that it was a factor). Nick has spoken glowingly of how Mike has helped him develop as a quarterback (could be game, who ever says the vet backup was a detriment to his development?). Even if he hasn't been as helpful as Nick indicates, at least he took his demotion like a man and kept the focus on the Eagles moving forward as a team.
Good competition for Glennon.
thank you very good competition at QB position thats all you can really ask for. a lot rather have Glennon not even earn his job smh

Yes seriously. Im not saying he isnt a good locker room guy, but I dont think its far fetched to say he might not be. I seem to remember reading a lot of things post Cooper racism that said Vick doesnt carry a lot of respect from the other players in the locker room. Did you really expect for Nick to say anything but good stuff about a current team mate? Again, not saying he is or isnt...but I dont think its outlandish to question it.

There is a very small step from the logic above to accusing boxing and mma promoters as "torturers" of humans and lumping them all in as sociopaths as well. The main difference being we don't recognize (nor should we) a dog as giving consent to be fought. As far as putting down the animal once it was no longer viable for "competition", dog fighting is in no way uncommon in that regard when compared to every other animal "sport". Dog fighting is disgusting, but does not fit the profile of sociopathy or mass murder. Nor is it a precursor for those in any way.

But there was a reason - for sport and competition. A true sociopath tortures for the simple pleasure of seeing something suffer. He has also showed remorse for his actions , which a sociopath does not feel.

I would be interested in that if you remember the source. My opinion of the Cooper situation was the Vick was the single Eagle player most responsible for diffusing that situation and allowing the team to move on and be successful as a team in spite of it.

Not saying this is the end all, be all...but it raised some questions in my mind. http://ftw.usatoday.com/2013/09/michael-vick-riley-cooper-cary-williams-philadelphia-eagles-respect/

Thanks! I read that totally differently I guess. That article increases my opinion of Vick. The stuff I was thinking of was right after the incident with Cooper happened.

I dont have a low opinion of him...but when he himself says "but these young dudes don't respect me" and I look at the amount of "young dudes" we have on our team...it makes me ask questions. I do think he was very mature in how he tried to handle the Cooper situation.

Entertainment is please and that is what this sport is. He also showed the remorse he needed to show to get his millions of dollars a year job back. Not that I don't trust people but I do rather tend to doubt the depths of his regrets.
If you've heard any kind of interview with Vick the last 2-3 years it could not be any more clear he's genuinely a changed person and not the idiot he used to be. And once again, I hated Vick when he played for the Falcons.

We both realize though that could well be Mike calling out his guys a little in the media. Just making a point the way he phrased his response to a question. I would believe that much more likely then him opening a little window into the soul of his insecurities and self-doubt to a reporter.

Very true. Just saying I have questions about his leadership. If we had a stronger locker room I would be less concerned, but right now it seems like that isnt there. Im not blaming it on the players we currently have because it is really hard to develop that type of culture when you have 4 different head coaches in the span of a few years.

Even if it is an act, who cares? He has been the absolute picture of professionalism. In every single public apperance, interview, hell even quote. He has been flawless for how many seasons now? This dude has been the Denzel of two faces if it's not genuine. I know some of you people REALLY love your dogs. I get it. There is 0 character, locker room, disgruntled demotion, whatever concern with signing Michael Vick. I just don't want to pay him much cause we can't afford it, not cause I don't think he's a risky investment (except physically, obviously he's tissue paper).
