Besides their name both starting with the letter "A" how do you figure they are similar? Curry had zero sacks in college and rarely rushed the passer. He was basically a Tampa-2 LB at Wake. That's nothing like Barr.

Their similar in these regards: Barr takes plays off just like Curry does. Both players aren't very physical either at POA.Both players are considered "all-around LBers". Barr at this point is a better pass rusher at this point but that's pretty much given. Other then rushing, they are very similar prospects.

+1If Barr is the type of player I worry he might be, he'd be like Jerry Hughes or Larry English.
I don't know what the answer is
None of us know anything besides schiano being let go as an improvement. However, a third hc comes in, the players had better play or they're on the chopping block no matter who they are.Could be, we have a bunch of lazy or mentality inept players.Imo, it's the playcalling and coaching once again that is causing this. We haven't had a hc that knows what an nfl qb is, let alone how to direct them in many, many years. We also haven't had a hc who has actually been a hc in the nfl level either. A db coach and a sub par college coach? Really? The incompetence is astonishing. A muti million dollar business putting their faith in that type of coaching indicates they aren't invested. Maybe financially, but not as a fan of their own team.
I've said it on here before and seen other people say it on Twitter, but Barr has no physicality to his game. He gets his sacks by either running around offensive tackles or blitzing through the interior untouched. He rarely if ever tries to get his hands on a blocker and put a move on him. He's all finesse. We already have pass rushers in David and Watson who can fly the a hole if the coaches scheme something right. We need a player who down-in down-out can put his hands on an offensive tackle and make him wish he didn't.
I said the same thing when I saw the original thread with his highlight videos comparing him to von Miller. I don't like this kid he looks like a pure speed rusher. von Miller has the speed of a speed rusher but he is like a man possessed when going after a quarterback. I've seen him literally lift up him lift offense of lineman of their feet to get to a quarterback.
Barr gets manhandled by TEs in the run game. He is a situational pass rusher. If you are not a 3-4 defense and you spend an early pick on him you are an idiot. Dakoda Watson is the equivalent, and you can pick up these one dimensional players WAAAAAAYYYYYYYY later than top 15. Mack is Jarvis Jones, only less impressive. Rope off the Skyway if either of these two are picked top-15. If we pick a LB at all in the 1st round it will set the franchise back years.
Mack is Jarvis Jones, only less impressive.
We'll see. I loved Jones as a college player but he didn't test well at all and one could argue that would be foreshadowing of the lackluster rookie season he had. If Mack tests as a more explosive athlete, he may be a better prospect than Jones.
I love Barr for a 3-4 system. I think he'll be an awesome 3-4 OLB. However, not sure about him as a 4-3 DE. I wouldn't be upset if we drafted him, but I'd hope we'd make him prove he can do it in workouts.
Anthony Barr, OLB, UCLA (6-4, 238):He has prototypical Geno Hayes size......This is THE most overrated prospect in the draft, period.

Because he's a LINEBACKER... I don't know why some people think he would be a DE here. He's going to be a pass rusher with either his hands in the dirt or standing up like Von Miller.Mack would the be same thing here and I'm starting to like him more than Barr.
