I guess you have to be a bit concerned about an unproven offensive scheme in the NFL.Lovie will surely let his OC do his thing so we just have to have a bit of faith at this point. Two main ingredients that makes an offense work are great schemes and great personnel. All of this talk about an offensive minded head coach being needed are rubbish.Look at Brian Billick as an example. His Minnesota teams with Moss and Culpepper averaged over 30 ppg but once he was hired in Baltimore they could never come close to that. Same schemes, different personnel. An offensive minded head coach doesn't guarantee offensive success.
Well he did manage that for one game with the Ravens, the Superbowl. The Giants simply could not cover a go-route to save their lives...
Until we show we can win consistently, I am concerned about every phase of the game.
It's too soon to make a determination either way. Remember Lovie inherits the #32 ranked offense in the league with a ton of holes. We have a long way to go. It's not as simple as "we will struggle on offense because Lovie Smith is a defensive coach". Look at what he's working with. The question will be how will he and Tedford look to build this offense going forward. But I don't see us making the jump from #32 to top 10 In 1 season.
Can't get much worse than it was last year. I think we will see much improvement.
Just to inject a little reality into the conversation, Lovie's offenses finish in the bottom quarter of the league eighty percent of the time.
I'm a huge Tedford fan , so no . I didn't even want Lovie until I heard he and Tedford basically came as a package deal .....then I was all in. I'm excited.
The more I read on Tedford, the more ENcouraged I am. I'll be concerned IF it fails. Why get concerned when we've not even SEEN it in action? ;D

was that because of lovies offensive play calls, lovies schemes, or lovies players?

But twenty percent of the time, it worked every time.
None. Lovie's not responsible for any of those things, he's only the head coach. On the Bucs, the head coach is ultimately responsible; on other teams, not so. They get a free pass.
You can't fix something if you don't know what the problem is
Lovie claims to have readdressed his offensive philosophy during his time off .Getting in with a guy like Tedford seems to confirm that. Tedford is not a Mike Shula/Mike Tice type coordinator.
GameTime: "You can't fix something if you don't know what the problem is."The thing they all have in common rhymes with "shovey." One of the worst offensive records of the last decade.
Dolorous Jason: "Lovie claims to have readdressed his offensive philosophy during his time off ."What was his conclusion as to what the problem is? You can't fix something if you dont know what the problem is.

After his experiments with Martz and Tice, I think he came to the conclusion that the problem is hiring OC's named Mike.
