By definition "thug" isn't a racial slur. But its often used at black punks, white punks just get called "punk". You can argue over dictionary meanings and semantics all you want, but its so recklessly used at black folks at least where I come from.

Sweeping the issue under the rug is part of the reason we still have situations like this. Because race talk is such a sensitive subject in this country because of our history.
