The word "colored" always reminds me of my grandmother. She used that term. That and "darkies". She was born in Georgia around 1913 iirc.
"those damn darkies".....lol. That's some funny shlt!
looks like a thug to me
what exactly does a thug look like?

While my own definition of thug is not racially divided, there are instances in which certain terms are used by some specific to race in similar situations. NBA players who break out in a brawl are thugs. NHL players who fight 2 secs into the game are goons. I don't think it's a substitute for the "n" word as Sherman says.
^^^^^^^^^^ Agree
lol......riiiiight
These are what real thugs are -
I think this is a very good representation of how society as a whole handles the issue. It gets discussed a little bit, laughed around, joked upon until people just don't talk about it until next time. Maybe that's the way it's going to always be handled and you really can't expect anything else. It is what it is.
No matter how much you hope and pray that racism dies it will never ever die. It's gotten better, but that's something that will never die. I don't like it and I don't think like that, but there will always be people who do.
I see Richard Sherman as more of a Douche Bag, I hope that isn't racist.

I totally agree. It will never die. This issue goes beyond football and this board.
How can it ever die if everything is considered racist? Hmmm...it's almost as if an agenda is in place. Nah...couldn't be that.

Because some of the things considered racist are indeed racist. That's the truth. The only thing that's false is this sense that nothing is ever done with racial intent. It's reality.

Right, nobody is denying that racism exists. Unfortunately that argument is usually presented in a way that implies it's from only one race towards another race. If we want to REALLY solve the racism issue, not just talk about it but really solve something, we'll start openly acknowledging the full extent of the problem. Until then, it's all a bunch of meaningless fluff.Â

Oh no no. It's definitely not just from 1 from to others. It's a universal thing. But unfortunately in this politically correct world we live in the issue is swept under the rug. That's why things like the Rooney Rule exist. That's why you have civil rights organizations and affirmative action. It's societies way to put a band-aid on an issue that's terminal. Instead of addressing it and acknowledging the full extent of a problem these things are put in effect to cover up those issues. Speaking specifically to football, the Rooney Rule is basically "We don't really know or want to say why minorities are passed over for head coach/FO jobs, but you must interview at least 1 minority to comply."
A thread about race, and Escobar06 crawls from under his rock to comment in it? Consider me shocked...
