Being bullied in the locker room is a different animal than being bullied on the field, especially for a young guy. If he retaliates by starting a fight in the locker room, how are the coaches gonna react? Probably not in his favor... On the field, it's easy to retaliate physically. In the locker room, especially for a young guy, not so cut and dry...
Even on the field it's hard. That retaliation could cost you penalties and the game. You do your job on the field and handle off-the-field stuff separately.
Forget the off-field stuff - where's the evidence he's a good football player? I didn't rate him highly coming out of Stanford, and he's done zippy to prove my thinking on him was flawed.
The team does not need the extra attention that will come with Martin. Plus he is average at best as a tackle. We already have Gabe Carimi.
Say what you want about Incognito, the guy definitely has his issues, but at least he can play at a fairly decent level when he isn't suspended or what not. Been that way since college. Problem is he's suspended a lot. But if given the choice of signing either of those two to a cheap 1 year deal if go with the bully.
IMO id be fine with kicking the tires on Martin. he cant be any worse than Carimi and wed get him for nothing
I would have no problem with bringing him to camp and letting the staff kick the tires on him. I have my doubts that he will play again as any locker room he walks into now is probably not going to accept him, but doesnt hurt us to take a test drive.
You formed this opinion based on what? Your long tenure as a player in the NFL?
Would it be bad of me to say I'd rather have Incognito?
If Martin is better than Penn then sure.
Well Incognito is the better player, and no one is bullying Penn unless they want their skull cracked.

Penn isn't a rookie either. Vet's bully rookies all the time but Incognito crossed the line. After what Aaron Hernandez did who wouldn't be scare of someone making threats against you with million at their disposal to make it happen.
Keep him the hell away from my Bucs. He wasn't by good to begin with and now he's a cancer. Nobody can be comfortable around him, he'll create a tense atmosphere as everyone is going to be unable to be themselves near him, always having to worry how he's going to react to anything they say near him and if he's going to whine and run to the team or sue them. Toxic guy.

Yea, nothing like vilifying someone who took death threats seriously. The human race is doomed! 8)

Do you live in high school or something? Ray Lewis possibly murdered someone and people got over it
Nope because he's mentally weak. This entire situation has nothing to do with bullying, it's all to do with him getting benched and not being able to handle that, instead he went running to Mommy & daddy who just happen to be lawyers in the hopes of getting easy money..It's funny that we heard nothing at all until his butt was put on the bench.I'd love for all the stuff that Incognitos side say Martin sent to him to be true and expose this clown.I don't get how you can tell somebody you are going to kill their family and also tranquilize them so you sexually assault them with "sandpaper condoms" THEN turn around and claim you were the one getting bullied.

Exactly, the reason they were even trying to toughen him up was that he sucks at his job. He's a bad player. The bullying thing doesn't have any effect on my thinking about him
