While there have been plenty of players singled out for praise by Licht/Lovie, Foster hasn't been one of them. Smith has been on record saying he likes to have an athletic MLB to run his defense. Is Foster that guy, or are the Bucs better served grabbing a guy like Mosley or Shazier to patrol the middle for the next 5-10 years? Understand Shazier is listed as an OLB, but he has added weight since college and has the size, speed, instincts, hitting ability and range to thrive as a MLB in Lovie's defense.
I love Shazier and I really do believe he's just another Lavonte David he has the instincts and speed, just more explosive and violent

I thought that same thing today...Funny though, the positions they seem to focus on in the media is QB and OLine. I wouldn't be surprised if they took an OT or QB.Foster has time to prove himself to lovie. He could move to SSLB if Watson goes somewhere else.
Think Tedford will remember Shazier doing this to Zach Maynard during his last year at Cal? Seems Mack is viewed more as a DE/OLB than as a MLB, though he is a freak athlete. Curious to see how he does in the NFL.

David already plays Mike half the time anyways. He can play anywhere and be great....but I think he's best at Will.

I agree he's that talented but he's a monster at WILL. I'm leaving him there until retirement.

Agree David has the talent to move to MLB, but why mess with a good thing? Have read that Lovie's defense is designed to force the play towards the WLB, so David would seem to be in the perfect spot already. While Dungy could get by with Quarles at MLB back in the day, the need for a MLB that can patrol sideline-to-sideline and drop in coverage is much greater today given the size/speed of today's TE's and RB's. Shazier is a heckuva blitzer as well.
