I have a strange idea...lets not draft a mediocre prospect simply because we arent happy with our current mediocre prospect.  If Glennon sucks next year, we will be in prime position to get a QB out of next year's draft when there isnt mid major and FCS QBs being talked about as the "top available".  Im not saying this kid wont be good in the NFL, but if you take him at #7...thats a waste of a pick we could use to fill a bigger hole, its a waste of our 3rd rounder last year, and would waste our chance of getting one of the better QB's next year....unless you happen to be one of those guys who thinks we should draft QBs 3 years in a row.

It's not as easy as you think. In order to get a great QB next year the Bucs would have to go 3-13 or worse to ensure they get a top 3 pick. IMO, even if Glennon stinks up the joint, this team coached by Lovie will be able to win 6 games and once again be out of position to draft a QB. If Lovie and Licht think one of the QB's in the draft this year is a franchise QB and that QB falls to the Bucs at 7 then they should draft him.

Yep, because there's absolutely no way we could trade up to get one next year.  Just impossible.  If one of the top 3 happen to fall to us at 7, I wont like it but fine.  Taking Bubble Screen Carr at #7 would be such an epic fail that we would be laughed at by those who drafted Ponder, Gabbart, Locker.

He'd be perfect for a system that does not use the forward pass in any way shape or form.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MFtuTb9OYZI Lots of screens and bubbles, but still plenty of deep and intermediate throws. Good mobility and climbs the pocket.

Don't use facts to make a point. Delirious the Fascist and his idiot gallery said Carr can't throw deep, and in their moronic little minds, simply saying it makes it so.

Actually the facts say he rarely DOES throw deep . Jdud posted the exact breakdown of those FACTS  . I believe the numbers were approx. 65% of his passes were  7  yards and under , 35% were screen passes. Much higher than any other prospect in the draft. The facts , black hole ....The facts.  U mad  ??

Actually, the facts say that your assertion that him NOT throwing deep often is in any way indicative of him NOT BEING ABLE to throw deep is baseless and moronic. He doesn't design the routes, he doesn't call the plays. The guy has a cannon for a arm. A real one, not a fake one like Glennon. There are highlight reals of the kid throwing the ball 50-60 yards with what looks like nothing more than a flick of the wrist. You should watch them sometime before making stupid, easily refuted comments like "he can't throw deep", or "he's not mobile".

....and you thought Freeman was good ...why are you talking QB's again ? Any opinion you ever have about a QB is discredited henceforth ,  you dumb little communist.

The fascist likes to divert away from the topic at hand. I think Benito Mussolini used to do that too.

If that is true, I wish he would go ahead and do it.  Pretty tire of the leftist government.

I would try hard to trade back from #7 in exchange for someone's 1st in 2015. I don't care if we don't get any picks this year. I'd move back to the #15 - #20 range for a 2015 1st round pick. If we are going to have any chance of getting Mariota or Winston, we are going to need two 1st round picks. Also, take all this political bullsh!t to the cove. Doesn't belong on the redboard. You guys have absolutely killed this thread.

I wouldnt mind a trade back at all...I think we could get a 1st next year and a 3rd this year...doesnt seem too far fetched.

I agree....but this is what the Black Hole does : spin threads off topic. I apologize on his behalf , but he can't help himself.

Would be ideal imo. Could grab a top TE or Aaron Donald if we were picking in the late teens or early 20s. We'd get back that missing 3rd, and we'd have that 1st round ammo to make a move for a QB next year.Browns would be the perfect partner. They have two 3rds, so they would come off of one....maybe both. And we all know they will be picking early in 2015.

Yea, plus I think this draft is deep, but not all that top heavy.  So the talent level between those picked between 8 and 32 is going to be fairly negligible.  Just one of those years where if you dont have a top 3, might as well move back and collect picks if someone else falls in love.

Trading back works for me , but not if we use that mid 1st rounder on a nose tackle.

You realize in two years when Donald is a star and considered a top 3 DT in the NFL....you're gonna have to admit you were wrong. Again.

If that's the case it will be for a team that plugs him in at undertake. He would never be considered a top3 tackle eating doubles for McCoy all day.I know you get over emotional with your man crushes every year , but try a little rationality for once. Much bigger needs than nose tackle.

I dont know enough about Lovie's plan to say if two stud DT is part of his plan.  Right now Im willing to follow the plan somewhat blindly, but even if we sign a DE before the draft I just think we have more pressing needs than another DT.
