After that incredible turnaround with the five game winning streak against very good football teams our hopes were off the charts. But after the last week and the two tough losses should we really be that shocked? Disappointed, yes but this team had two VERY tough road games and despite some mistakes were in both of them. But the young Buccaneers fell short and are simply not a playoff team this year.
But.... they damn well WILL be after some improvements coming this winter and spring! We know the weaknesses, The lack of depth, a number two WO who can stretch the field and definitely OL and DL help to start. Some can be addressed in FA and some in the draft but they WILL be addressed.
The positives FAR outweigh the negatives as I type today. Jameis and Kwon are so young and it shows sometimes but their skills and leadership, their dedication to the game shows up too, week after week. Many other players too, young guys who have so much potential and really want to win here in Tampa.
It hurts today but it won't for long. Our time is coming! And you know what? The Panther game next Sunday is going to be a fun game to watch. Last chance to see them live this season and the first game in 2017. I hope the corwd is loud and proud and can show the Buccaneers we STILL believe.
