I think you have to make the Watkins pick if he's there.... if not, dangle the hell out of that pick.

agreed. nothing about Carr has "super star" written all over himand if we're not going to draft a super star QB at 7, then we should just stay with glennon and look at Watkins, a LT or trade down

Small hands is the first thing out of the bag and it is a non issue since he doesn't have a problem throwing the ball with those hands. Level of competition? Plenty of QBs have been successful not playing out of the big conferences. Screen passes? Yes he threw a lot of them but when you look at what he did on non screens he still looks like a pro prospect. This isn't a Colt McCoy level prospect I love that jimmy g has a lower level of competition and the same size hands and ran a ton of screens from a spread and you like him to be a franchise over Carr. I do not know much about Carr as I didn't watch much college games other than SEC or ACC conferences.Does he possess the ability to read a defense, anticipate and analyze the coverage vs. his route runners and protection, knows how to put his team in the best play, and overall lead?As a QB - I don't think you need the fast 40 times or "a cannon arm" because those two attributes while are good and might win a game or two, but its not enough to get the offense as a unit to consistency.

Similar players to be. Size and build are the same. Both are athletic but not super crazy guys like a Kaepernick. I'd compare them more to a Rodgers level player in terms of mobility. Garropolo has a faster release, Carr has better velocity. I like ball placement and accuracy from both guys. I've seen whole games of Carr and have only seen highlight of Jimmy G so it is hard to say since I could cut up highlights to make anyone look good. I think they are similar in a lot of ways.

I've seen that and I tend to think that it was rather suspect honestly unless I just happened to watch his good games and in the other ones he was beyond gawd awful.

With all that, would you use 7 on Carr...or make a trade (if possible) and trade down for more picks and grab Garrapolo in the second half of round 1?Thanks for the info
