People really thought Geno Smith would go number 1? AHAHAHAHA. I was saying that kid was a bust waiting to happen long before his college days were over.
Where's this proof of Carr's mobility ?? He doesn't show great escapability in the pocket. All I've seen him do is start back peddling and then panic and throw off his back foot when pressure gets near...and taking off ?? Forget it. I mean he's only got 100 and something rushing yards for his entire career against Mountain West teams. I seriously doubt his mobility is any sort of favorable attribute for him on the next level.
Okay, I only watched about 7 minutes of the video, but you can clearly see this is a single read guy. On a lot of his passes, he was staring down his receiver. Also, it's pretty easy to have a high completion percentage when your throwing 3 yard slants. He's a okay prospect in my opinion, but other than some mobility, I didn't see anything there that made me think this is the 2nd coming of anything special. I don't hate him as a quarterback, but I think Glennon does a far better job of reading defenses/receivers at this point.
Derek Carr is one of the more interesting prospects. I am very interested to see what he does at the Senior Bowl, Combine workouts, and how he interviews.
If Carr has a good week, we need to consider him at #7. I'm with SR on this one. Hopefully this is our last top 10 pick for a while. If Lovie/Tedford think he's the guy, pull the trigger.
