It seems to me that Carr is a good fit for Tedford's offense

I don't know how people like to say Carr can't throw deep or that he has a weak arm.  That is false.  He has a top 5 NFL arm.  He has the best arm in the draft.  He can make every throw.  His arm is at least 8 times stronger than Glennon's.  It's embarrassing when Glennon's best throw of the season was a wounded duck that VJax had to turn around and wait for in the end zone that they keep showing on ESPN whenever they mention Glennon.Carrthrow3.GifDerek-Carr-Deep-Pass-A.gifCarrnmsu.gif

At least "eight" times?  What metric are you utilizing? He is a prospect.  And nothing abou this game screams "superstar".

I respectfully disagree. With some good coaching on his footwork, he's easily the best QB in the class.

Looks pretty mobile to me.  I don't think Glennon can do this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=czybwr0pyO4 Shows off arm talent in this game. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E368v-Ao-lA

Delirious the Fascist is mad that I called it with Carr months ago. I said his stock would shoot up by draft time because he probably has the livest arm in the class. So he's trying to save face by bashing a QB for throwing an interception and claiming that 3/4 of an inch is an "exaggeration". Because lord knows good QB prospects NEVER throw picks, and that it's almost impossible for a 6'2" QB to make it in the NFL. Oh, the buffoonery...

Meh.  Nothing jumps out at you.  He throws a lot, and I mean a LOT of short stuff.  It gets there accurately, in place for the receiver to make a play after the fact.  His "wheels" are deceptive.  On that scramble for a TD I cringed when he held that ball out there like a loaf of bread, and with his small hands, that stuff may pop loose during those games in the cold (when they matter, for the most part).  But that is just a reach at a negative.  He is not a physical specimen, he has big time college production, but I am not so sure that a QB like Glennon playing in that same system wouldn't replicate those exact same numbers, if not best them entirely.  If the Bucs draft him, I will cringe because I am not so sure this guy is the savior of the franchise, and Lovie-Licht will be forced to play this guy as such...this pick is pretty huge for the new era of Bucball!Bucs would be better served to build the trenches up, rather than draft Carr.  But again, if the new staff thinks highly of him, then this may be the new franchise guy.  And that makes me nervous...he just doesn't scream superstar on any level.

I have seen a lot of comments on his hand size, which was measured at 9 1/8 inches.  Just and FYI, Colin Kaepernick's hands measured the same size at the 2011 combine.  I am not sure if there is really a correlation there. It seems there are busts and pro bowlers at both specturm of the hand size scale, so I am not sure if it really matters.  Carr throws a good looking ball.  I am not sure we need to invest in a QB at the top of the draft, but I think the guy might be the best QB prospect in the draft. I know I watched him play at least two times on ESPN's Thurs/Fri ngith games and was impressed.  He looks like Rogers/Cutler to me--athletic, decent size, good arm, quick release. That being said, I hope we find a way to get Clowney.  DE is our biggest need, and despite his subpar stats last year, he has a rare combination of size/speed.

The question is, is it more impressive than Glennon's game?

Considering Glennon broke rookie TD pass records in the NFL while Car was throwing bubble screens all day against Mountain West competition ? Not really.

Yes.He has a quicker release and he can throw running to his left.I would not say Carr has better pocket awareness then Glennon.  But I also give him an edge in terms of arm strength.  Accuracy is fairly close but the edge goes to Carr.  Glennon is better at the intermediate routes while Carr is better at short and deeper routes.

He's also better throwing to the sidelines, something Glennon has struggled with since college. But you can't tell Delirious that. The Glennon nut-hugger that he is, he'd pass on the next Joe Montana to keep his man crush behind center.I also disagree on pocket awareness. Part of the reason Glennon suffers in the 2nd half so much is because when the defense turns up the heat he either checks down or freezes. I believe that part of the reason that Glennon looked good early and struggled late is because once the playbook opened up and he was asked to do more, he couldn't handle it.

I'd Gladly replace Glennon with a bonafide franchise QB ....problem is that guy doesn't seem to be there for us at #7 , and I don't believe in reaching , which is what a Carr pick would be.

The scouts disagree, but don't let facts get in your way.

The scouts also said Jamarcus Russell should be 1st overall. They said Alex Smith should go before Aaron Rodgers. The scouts say a lot of things. It doesn't make them facts.

I didn't think there was a dumber poster on this board than Delirious the Fascist Myopian. I stand corrected.Do you know what the definition of a "reach" is? If a player is scouted and grades out as a top 10 pick, and a team selects them in the top 10, does that qualify as a "reach" to you, smart one?

Good job you missed the point, but  yet call me dumb. The point was the scouts say a lot of things. A lot of times they are wrong. I didn't think it was that hard to understand.
