Winston missed by his teammates May 29, 2015 by Gil Arcia During his time at Florida State, quarterback Jameis Winston‘s energy resonated throughout his teammates — not just on FSU’s football team, but their baseball team as well and it looks like he has carried that into the NFL. The Buccaneers were without Winston on Thursday as he attended the NFLPA’s Rookie Premiere event. His absence was felt as defensive end Jacquies Smith tells our good friends at JoeBucsFan.com that there was some energy missing from Thursday’s practice.“You feel his competitive spirit and his energy. It’s a different energy, you know, when he’s in the locker room or around. You feel it missing [Thursday],” Smith said. “You know, I’ve had a couple of sit-down conversations with him and talked to him. He’s a great guy, and we’re looking forward to seeing him grow.”There was some natural uncertainty with how Winston would handle the NFL spotlight and how receptive his new teammates at the professional level would be.
