Freeman was not good enough. Period. Doesn't matter how you spin it. He was counted on to step his game up when the defense played poorly and sucked. He was counted on to win games when the defense played ok and he still sucked. He had one year where he played ok and we didn't win the big games necessary to compete at the next level and from there on out we never did. This isn't even debatable. I don't know how you guys are even debating with JC in this. It's laughable.

I can't even remember the last time I posted on this site but I had to log on just to post about this...Why in the fuck is there a 19 fucking page thread about Josh Freeman? Who the fuck cares about him? This dude is literally completely irrelevant to anything Bucs related. His name, Raheem and Schiano should all be censored on here.

I will give this guy [JC5100] credit. He can keep the argument civilized. That is rare on the Red.I totally disagree though. If Freeman was not given enough time here, or he went to Minny and balled at a high level, then those things would bolster his argument. But as we all saw, neither one of those things actually happened. Carry on.

What does time have to do with it? The coaching and defenses were bad all the way through. Here's a perfect example. If the Bucs had been playing the Saints Week 16 to clinch the playoffs and essentially win or lose the NFC South and Freeman threw 181 yards 1 TD 1 INT and the Bucs had 10 first downs there would be 40 threads about how we need to trade for Cousins, or sign Cassel or draft Manziel. Cam Newton does it and this happensN-Cam-Newton-Large570.Jpg

Well, you would acknowledge, there are quite a few front office people out there, that know what they are doing?  The majority of the league falls into that category. So, all those great football minds around the league, passed on Freeman when he was released ?  He was lucky to get that 1 year deal with Minny.  And they have no interest is keeping him. He will be a free agent in a week or 2, when free agency starts.  I really doubt any teams will be using speed dial to get a hold of Erik Burkhart [sp?] before some other team signs Freeman.

I was never really worried about that - but - I am glad it didn't happen.  Good to see both he and Schiano gone so the bucs will have an opportunity we real live NFL types...

As I keep saying, bringing up these old games where he played at least average and lost is not the point. Freeman didn't get benched and then cut for playing respectable and losing like in the old days. He got ditched because his play went from decent-to-sometimes good to completely sucky. If he were still the player that lost that Redskins game, he'd probably still be here.

It's not even about the benching. My point has been he was worth the time and effort to get him cleaned up. If we had made the playoffs in 2010 and 2012 he would have had more support from the fan base and organization and Schiano would not have been able to discard him like that. It was a dumb move by a dumb coach with an agenda.

The defense obviously played better for Glennon.

In the wins they did.

Imagine the coincidence.

Just facts. Miami came in here with a JV line and ran 14 times for 2 yards. Defense actually held a late lead.5 turnovers and held the lead vs Detroit5 turnovers, 7 sacks vs BuffaloAtlanta was a total team effort.

You want facts, JC?In those four wins, the opposing team averaged 18.5 points while the offense averaged 28.5 points. In Freeman's three losses, the opposing team averaged 19 points while the offense averaged 11.33 points. You don't want fact, JC.  You want spin.

Atlanta was 1-7 on the road (win was in OT at Buffalo). Buffalo was 2-6 on the road. New England was 8-0 at homeJets were 6-2 at home.Is 14 carries, 2 yards the best run defense performance in team history? It has to be. But it was because a Dolphins lineman quit and another was thrown off the team right before we played. Defense hadn't forced 5 turnovers since 2009. Did it in two of Glennon's wins.
