This is another reason why I think it could be Shanahan. There's been zero mention of him in the press, and the Glazers love to run under the radar.
Wow dude, just wow. I'm a ginger if that tells you how white I am and I don't give a flying fukk what color Lovie is. The only color that matters in football is the color of your jersey. You can take that crap somewhere else.I want Lovie because he has experience at the highest level. He is well respected in the league. He knows what it take to get it done unlike our last 2 experiments. His players all liked him and he will help us get more good players. He went to the Superbowl with Rex Grossman for crying out loud. He gets the most out of his players and that trait combined with our young studs makes me excited. He is not a gamble or a dice roll- he is the kind of coach you hire and just relax because you know sh1t is handled. As far as him being a defensive coach I am good with that too. I think trying to win a shootout every time we play NO is a dumb idea. Stout D and ball control is the way to beat them. SF, Seattle, KC, and Carolina all show that style still works.
See: Rooney Rule. Color is a fairly big deal, so much that there is an official rule about it.I'm with you though, if Lovie is as good as a coach as people say then it the last thing I'm worried about is what the color of his skin.
@CommishOnline 19mIt would not shock me if Lovie Smith was not the #Bucs next head coach. When have Glazers ever done the obvious? #EdgeOfMySeat@CommishOnline 15mRemember, Chip Kelly was the Glazers first choice before Schiano and NO ONE saw either of those coming. #GlazersSpeakToNoOne
People will never learn...I am not against Lovie, but I would rather have another selection at coach, myself...an offensive minded coach. But Lovie is a solid organizer, and a proven winner. He keeps his teams competitive, and hasn't had the benefit of spectacular QB play to back him up. If he is right about Tedford, then it will be a good hire. If not, then we will watch the Bucs offense bog down and sputter. It is just a part of Lovie's DNA.
Shanahan lost his job in Denver because the playcalling sucked after Kubiak left.
I am lukewarm on Lovie. Good guy, good coach, and I think he is a safe choice for the Glazers. They need stability more ever right now.
One of the advantages to Smith is lots of quality people will want to work for him...
Agreed. Maybe the biggest problem with the last two hires was their lack of drawing power for quality assistants.
Cummings hits another outta the park.
Lol
