Only QB in this draft worth trading up for is Bridgewater and I would be iffy on doing it. Trading up for the other 2 guys with all the questions they come with would be insane. That QB would have to be a slam dunk for that kind of move and Manziel and Bortles are not.I would trade up for Clowney tho.

Bortles is Chase Daniel part 2. I wouldn't take him if he "slipped" to 7...I'd let him tumble right on past.I agree about Teddy and I think he will have the best career out of the three , but I would also be hesitant to trade up. The Jags would straight up trade-rape us.

LOL

I'm sure they're talking to everybody about trading. No big deal there.

I suppose the haters could be right and Bridgewater, Manziel, and Bortles could all end up being garbage, but they are all very good prospects and they all have a good chance of being vlid starters. We don't have a valid starting QB....so until we have one, I would continue to take chances on good QB prospects until we find one. Otherwise we are just spinning our wheels.I hope if the new regime is sold on one of these QBs, they do whatever they have to in order to get their guy.....as long as it isn't Carr. :)

Ok, lets say coach Smith identifies someone he really likes in this draft and we spend another few years trying to develop him. He is never better than mediocre and another half decade is wasted. Why not just wait until next year to land a QB? It is going to be a much deeper QB class and the FA class is slated to be pretty deep as well IIRC. Plus, we might have a chance at landing Jameis Winston.

Why play the what if game if you only list the negative outcome as a possibility? What if we take a QB and he is the next big thing and becomes a top 10 QB for the next decade? And everyone needs to stop with the nonsense about waiting until next year. We'll win at least 8 games in 2014 and there is no way we can trade down to #1 or #2 to get Mariota or Winston. If we can't get a QB this year, then we can't get a QB....but purposely passing on a QB if one is available because our strategy is to wait until next year.....is 100% retarded. That just isn't how it works.

I don't know. I just think this QB class is way to weak to warrant a 1st round draft pick. If we do anything to address the position in this draft I think we should grab a QB in a later round.

So your answer is to spend a top 10 pick on a lesser product? Other than BW, none of these QBs would even be considered over the crop of QBs coming out next year.

Since a lot of Bucs fans love to play the what if game,  what if Manzeil isn't a lesser product. What if Clowney is Gaines Adams v2?Just sayin'

Says who? Winston is a one year wonder that might or might not continue to be great, might or might not declare next year, and might or might not decide to play professional baseball instead of football. Even if he does choose football and declare next year, what are the chances that we can somehow get the #1 pick?Other than myself, I can't think of anyone that had Mariota ranked above Bridgewater and Manziel.....but now he is? Why? Because he didn't declare and the grass is always greener? And again, if he does declare next year....what are the chances we can get high enough to draft him? The top three guys may not be Andrew Luck, but they are all right there with Cam Newton, RG3, Matt Stafford, and Sam Bradford. Some of you wanna act like this QB class is suddenly as bad as 2011 or 2013....but it's not. These are good QB prospects and we shouldn't be scared to take a shot on one. It's not every year that a Lovie Smith coached team is picking in the top 10. If the opportunity presents itself, we need to go for it.

The biggest single need on the bucs is a pure pass rusher (I'm sure half the ppl say it's qb).  Clowney is the best defensive prospect in the last decade.  Last year the Dolphins moved up from #12 to #3 and it cost them their 2nd rounder.  If that's the cost to get Clowney, I'm onboard and I kind of think it would be silly not to.  I don't see us kicking ourselves for passing on any of the qb's.

i wouldnt mind this.  i would certainly like more picks, but if you told me we got clowney and revis with this draft, id be okay with it

if thats the case we should just trade a bag of peanuts for bradford.

And what if we wait until next years deeper class and the guy we take then is never better than mediocre? At that point we've wasted another year on top of the half decade you mention.I know, let's not even try to upgrade from garbage because we might fail and be left right where we began with a bad starter, it's not like QB is important enough that you need a good one, let's just go throw away a high pick on a DE who is more about the money & fame than the love of the game (bust waiting to happen)or maybe a college pass rushing LBer that really doesn't fit our team.
