Haven't started a new thread in a long time but I read these boards daily. Had to login for this one.
So I live in the Buffalo Bills market and one name that no one has talked about is Jairus Byrd. I get why, he really underwhelmed the last three years in NO after getting paid big money. Now he is a value signing. In the right defense, watch out!
Maybe he has lost a step, but I would kick the tires. In Buffalo, he averaged 4.4 interceptions a season and really only had one down year. He is a ball hawk. Not many safeties get 9 interceptions in one season. Also, remember that ever important game against New Orleans last year with playoff hopes on the line? People credit drew Brees for carving us up... but Jairus Byrd had two interceptions in that game alone against Jameis.
We want to talk about Chris Conte winning us games? For about the same price we can get a heady player in Byrd. Maybe the injuries have caught up and he's camp fodder at this point, I admit I haven't followed him close enough to know... would love to hear fellow Bucs fans' thoughts! From what I've seen of him in Buffalo, the guy was a center fielder who guessed right often, always making a play.
