Has Jdud seen Mettenberger clean shaven and in a suit and tie ?? I think he might like him :
Doesn't the fact that the Bucs were last in the league in YAC from our Wr's negatively skew the QB's YPA ?Can you remember the last time a WR of ours took a quick slant ( or some other short pass pattern ) , made a couple guys miss , and took it to the house or for a huge gain ? I can tell you it was never in 2013 .....who was the last guy to do it, Joey Galloway ??Giving all the credit to the QB for YPA is sort of dumb . No QB is going deep on every play . If your Wr's get no seperation chances are you are going to have some low YPA.
If that's what you feel, you should be able to build a case where other good QBs have had really bad YPAs because of their receivers.

Matt Ryan : lost Julio Jones and is 20th this year . Last year he was 7th . Joe Flacco : Ravens traded away Boldin and he is 37th this year . Last year he was 14th.Happy ??P.S. : Andrew Luck , a QB who a consensus of people say is awesome : 26th in YPA this season : behind Geno Smith . LOLZ . Still want to make the case that YPA is the perfect measuring stick??

Tom Brady is a good example, he was somewhere near 10th last year and now near the bottom.I think the point that i'm starting to come around to is that our receivers aren't the only reason for the the low YPA average. Wright is a good receiving TE but isn't going to break many tackles and Underwood sometimes falls down with no one touching him. The low YPA average is a product of very few YAC by our receivers but that is also influenced by Glennon not hitting guys in stride as often as he should.

I've trolled so well that I've actually changed my entire outlook on the YPA. I think we should honestly draft the guy with the highest possible YPA that doesn't play in a spread or some version of spread offense. It shows the QB is aggressive, likely throws the ball down the field often and when not gives his receivers a chance to catch and run with well placed passes. Watch the Mettenberger highlights, he does exactly that.
Bump....Looks like his rehab is going very well. Also read an article that more than one team had rated him as the #1 QB prospect before his injury. http://www.nola.com/lsu/index.ssf/2014/01/lsus_zach_mettenberger_making.html
I've heard some teams have him completely off their board for character stuff

I know he got arrested, I think he ended up transferring to LSU after being thrown off a team didn't he?

That post is from January 7th. I think Slobber may be projecting. You mancrushing bro? Following us around and responding to posts a month old ? Lol

Yes, but from what I am hearing something happened that has not been made public yet. Cant remember who said it but apparently many teams "took him off their board all together stemming from an incident that did not happen while enrolled at LSU or UGA"
It does sting, that's why I'm saying let's go with Mettenberger, he's tied for 2nd overall and ahead of others like JFF, Bortles, Teddy, and AJ. The guy gets big chunks of yardage when he throws, isn't that what we want?
There are many factors. The offense he playrd in....who did he throw the ball to (YAC).Foles is your perfect example. Plug him into the 2013 Buccaneers offense and he isnt going to put up those numbers. Its all relative.
Check out this video of Mettenberger just take apart JFF. Things you should notice during the clip.1. Tom Brady-esque pocket presence. Zach is one of the slower QBs around and certainly his knee injury isn't going to help his speed, but boy can the kid feel and move around in the pocket well, damn.2. Ton of arm talent. Zach has the strongest arm in this draft class and shows on several occasions he can fire it or put a nice touch on it.3. Runs a pro style offense4. You see him on numerous occasion read and working his progressions. Which help from commentators you can pick out several instances very easily where he's making a read and a progression.5. Big chunks of yardage. His Y/A average is not luck. The kid throws the deep ball very well and gives his receivers a chance to make a play. Some of the throws he makes are amazing. What do you guys think? Still like JFF over him? Do you like Bridgewater over him? http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=W1fPKaOynHw

can teddy wear a glove in tampa? I do love watching Jff play but think I would pass on him. I currently wouldn't mind mettenberger later...or Murray later. Or teddy in the 2 if he can play with a sweaty glove.
