No way!
I mean there's NO WAY anyone saw this coming!
Color me shocked………not
The question now regarding Jensen is whether he'll have surgery or not. If he doesn't, then you can't ever count on him to be healthy. If he does then he'll be lucky to be ready for 2024 and he'll be 33 having not played for two years. Either way it doesn't look very good They'll have to think about cutting him in 2024 and take a $16 mil dead cap hit.
He is done as a buc
How screwed are we cap wise by this for future years?
Really wish they would have announced this shit earlier in the week. Ruined a pretty fun night of Bucs football. I feel sick.
16 million dead money next year
Could this have gone any worse?
Overpaid him to begin with...
Gets hurt and doesn't have surgery like a normal person.
Rushes back for a playoff blowout and wasn't effective.
Leads us along all camp like he might come back, even though it didn't add up.
He's dead cap for next season too...
So we got literally nothing out of this contract and by signing him, we avoided taking Humphrey in the draft.
Just a huge fuck up in so many ways
Jensen put on IR today.
Out for the Year
What a dummy for not getting surgery!
I know he didn't do it on purpose...but regardless I'll always have a grudge against Logan Hall
It doesn't help but it still won't be as bad as this year. This year they have $75 mil dead cap money. Brady's dead cap money was only $35 mil of that. I don't fault them for signing Jensen or restructuring his deal after that. But didn't they have any input into whether he got surgery after the 2022 season? I get it. He wanted to go with stem cell therapy to have a chance to play in the playoffs with Brady. But after that was over and he was still hurt, somebody needed to tell him "OK time to get surgery now." Instead they let him follow his pipe dream that he would heal up. It might have cost him the chance to be ready for the start of 2024.How screwed are we cap wise by this for future years?
Why would stem cell therapy even be an option?
Why didn't our doctors tell him no?
Why did they hide this from everyone for over a year?
What a collasal fuck up
Not just stem cell therapy. Stem cell therapy combined with rest! It never worked before, but hey there's always a first time! Or maybe not. I agree totally that it was a complete screw up. Question is how much is on the Bucs and how much is on Jensen? I guess the Bucs can't tell Jensen what to do with his body, or can they? He's under contract. Can a football player who is under contract refuse to get surgery to fix torn ligaments and thereby collect their entire paycheck without ever properly rehabbing the injury? I guess they can. Jensen did. Did the Bucs have a choice in this? Did they approve of it? Perhaps we'll never know. Why would stem cell therapy even be an option?

The fact that they kept it so hush hush is what makes me put my tin foil hat on...
