You don't think there's a relationship between signing Jensen and Brady coming back? On March 13th Jensen was signed hours after Brady unretired. Do you really think Licht had a choice if he wanted Brady back?Licht has had some good contracts too but yes... recently really bad.
And now when he needs to sign Evans to a modestly bad contract given his age, this becomes the one person he gets frugal with...?
Jensen was an awful signing even if he was healthy...
So which is it?
Is Licht and order taker or does he make the calls?
Brady played 1 more year, yet Jensen got a 3 year deal.
Licht just tried to run it back really quick (which was fine by all of us) but all the moves were late, and not well thought out.
In the end the point becomes: you don't compound a mistake with another one.
Jensen mistake should not be the dagger in making Evans retire a Buc.

if we have proven anything over the last couple offseasons, the salary cap is make believe if you really want to keep a player
The hold up is the signing bonus money/guarantees which can be worked out after the season is over.
The guaranteed money is the whole deal pretty much. That can't be worked out after the season's over. The hold up is the signing bonus money/guarantees which can be worked out after the season is over.
