Ryan Jensen announced his retirement via social media.
He has a home building company (I think) otherwise I would've guessed a job with the Bucs.
he tells a great story about seeing Licht and the Glazers in the waiting room after his injury
Is there any Jensen dead cap hit for this year?
Is there any Jensen dead cap hit for this year?
$16.6M
Unless they designate him as a post June release
Then it would be $4.8M this year and $11.8M in 2025.
Bad contract.
The NFL really should have some kind of contract clause by which if a player retires due to injury they no longer count against the cap. It’s kind of obvious.

well certainly turned out that way. 3 year deal and he played what, 1 game in the Dallas playoff loss?
i do understand why Jason Licht signed him though. Guy was still playin at a high level, and Brady decided to come back which we remember right before free agency with Jensen signed the same day Brady announced he was coming back.
we have to remember, we were at a high after 2021 season. Won Super Bowl in 2020, had franchise best 13 wins in 2021; there was nothing stopping us. I am sure Brady and the Bucs reloading expecting to compete for a Superbowl in 2022 so i do not blame JL for the contract. But yes, likely one of the worst in his career given Jensen didnt play lmao. Thank you Logan Hall.
We missed him a ton this year
glad he won a sb here
wish Him the best moving forward!

You can’t designate him as such if he files papers before the date.
same thing Happened when Brady retired
Yeah, Having Jensen's savvy along the line will be missed terribly.
If Jensen didn't get rolled up on he would probably still be the starting center for the Bucs. I just think it was bad luck. Plus I think Jensen could have opted for surgery at the start instead of going to the Shaman or whatever he did to try to heal it withous surgery. He could have come back eventually IMO.Is there any Jensen dead cap hit for this year?

This was one of the more interesting aspects of the Jensen story and probably explains why Licht and the Glazers were waiting for him at the hospital and why he's been on the sideline as a leader, quasi-coach since.
Clearly . . 100% clearly . . an important team LEADER
