I've been surprised that the majority of the mock drafts, that I've seen, haven't had Johnson II in the top 20 picks...and honestly blown away. To be fair, mock drafts are a crapshoot esp in a year when there isn't a consensus top 3 players nor any top tier QB. If Jermaine Johnson II is there at our pick, I'd personally run the card up to the Commish. It would seem that they'll likely move on from JPP, which will be sad as he's such a leader and plays with more tenacity and heart than just about anyone in the league. I know we spent our psuedo 1st rd pick on JTS, but he doesn't play with any functional strength, can't set the edge, and runs himself out of plays. I think at his best, he's more of a rotational Edge and seems to be closer to Barrett in terms of "potential" skill set. Johnson II is more NFL ready than Tryon, coming out of college...as well as stronger, much more physical, very good at setting the edge and playing the run, and def can get after the QB with a variety of moves.
We def need an End/DT to replace Suh, tho I hope we bring him back. Think we can find a quality one in the 2nd-4th. Depending on if can bring Davis back, CB will likely need to be addressed even if it's for depth. However, if we can get our QB pressure back to the way it was last season, then we won't have to rely on our corners having to hold up as long..and would likely create more INTS. I think Jermaine Johnson II is an ideal fit to play opposite Barrett, the mold of JPP including leadership and unrelentless motor. Dude was blowing up Olineman in 1 on 1s at the Senior Bowl, had an amazing Senior season, and knows how to work hard (in other words he doesn't just rely on physical tools to get by) as he started at a Juco then to UGA and finished at FSU.
