I know kids have played pro baseball and still played college football, but not sure about the reverse.  You may be right about the NFL contract though.  Although Deion was allowed to play both pro baseball and pro football.

Bo Jackson as well...but then again neither were franchise QBs.  Even the ones who played baseball and then came back to college football never did it at the same time.  I dont know all the ins and outs, but doubt it happens.

see it might be different with Baseball. if you play sports in college you take a scholarship from the most important one, Football. Jameis plays both Baseball and Football but only counts for Football, weve had guys who played basketball and were redshirting on the football team but they take up the football shcolarship even when they arent playingim sure the NFL contract will forbid him from playing other sports to protect the interests of the team that drafts him. its pretty rare that you see a guy be allowed to do both. Bo Jackson and Deion Sanders are about the only ones that were allowed to do both that i can think of

What do you mean by "same time"?    I know of kids that played pro baseball during season and then college football season.  Obviously not commuting back and forth.  Probably missed some Spring workouts because of playing pro baseball though.  Pro baseball of course meaning minor leagues.

It's rare that a player is capable and/or interested in doing both at an elite level.  I doubt that many other guys have been forbid even though they wanted to badly.    I agree with the franchise QB being a little different although Deion and Bo were pretty important to their teams as well.

I'm sure that also has to do with football having significantly more scholarships

If FSU gets two years I hope they put that guy in a dance class or something to teach some coordination. He's a great talent but he's one the most awkward looking athletes I ever seen. He is great passer but runs like a newborn horse.

I dont think he runs that bad.  He looked off against Auburn because he wasnt used to playing against that kind of speed.  6 Looks fine to me

There not so bad but to me he looks awkward when he's going anything other than throwing the football.Which is not a problem

Winston was interviewed just recently and he said that Fisher's comments were accurate and that he planned to stay and play 2 more years. He said he wanted to play baseball and help FSU win multiple championships. He said he and his coach were on the same page.

And the next year he will be the savior again unless he is injured or has a terrible year and then he starts losing $$$$$$.  There is little benefit to staying in college that extra year if he is projected as a top pick.

True, but stayin another season or two, would make him better equipped to handle that pressure.
