Swagger
Fine line between swagger and delusional. If Belichick couldn't do it, I doubt an undersized, scrambling QB who likes to party hard will be any different.
Tom Brady told Robert craft on the first day on mini camp that drafting him was the best move the organization had ever made....and it's such a cool story about his confidence! Johnny Manziel says he can end the Browns slump and it's a mistake for the Texans to pass him up....and he's a self righteous punk. Seems legit.

i think the difference is that brady made the statement to the owner in a private conversation? manziel was speaking to reporters for the world to hear his voice.

So it's only ok to be ultra confident in yourself in private...not publicly? That seems odd.
Who here said anything close to "self righteous punk"?

i think there is certainly a difference in the way one should address the media and the lockerroom. 'swagger' is cool, and its fun to see. but lets just hope he can back it up. i certainly wont be buying any excuses...he is choosing the target on his back. but im old school. do your work on the field and let someone else tell the world how good you are. the world is too engrossed in fame and publicity imo.
Some people can't grasp the difference between confident and c*cky.
When you can back it up....it's confidence.
Not really. That's just something arrogant jackwagons say to excuse themselves for acting like arrogant jackwagons.
I think c0cky people come off as thinking they are better than everyone else and tend to put others down by telling everyone how much better they are. Floyd Mayweather is c0cky. Confident people are just interested in their own abilities and what they know they can accomplish. The only person they are interested in being better than, is themselves. I don't think Johnny puts anyone else down or is overly exuberant in his comments. He simply feels he is the best QB in this draft and any team that passes on him is making a mistake. Just about every top QB prospect says something similar every year....but this is JFF so it must be outrageous and c0cky. Right?
"Just about every top QB prospect says something similar every year..."Got any examples? They should be easy to find since the press is there.

We have a winner. Brady thanking the owner in private for giving him a shot and saying it's the best move the organization has ever made is different than JFF announcing publicly, in what seems like an act for the publicity. One shows confidence in yourself by quietly proclaiming your confidence and the other is cocky. Like I said, a very fine line between the two. Looking in the mirror and believing your a badass is honest. Saying it in front of a reporter hopefully trying to get someone else to believe is different. Brady knows he's badass, deep down inside, he sleeps at night knowing it and therefore has no urge to try to tell anyone. JFF is trying to convince someone which tells me he doesn't believe it himself. His best play at this point is to be quiet and hope a team is dumb enough to take him in the top 5.
Manziel will play hard for any team that drafts him..but..Hopefully he drops and we choose him, because he'll have a big chip on his shoulder @7.

But...but....he said he's going to be good in the NFL! He said if the Browns took him, their 50 year revolving door at the QB position would end! He's obviously not a good choice. No legitimate QB would ever say such things.
