The first 35 mins of the vid, JP talks about Bowles’ blunders & why he should be fired now & the keys should be given to Liam. I couldn’t agree more. Bowles’ defense sucks & his unwillingness to adapt & make significant changes are why he needs to go now rather than later. Do you guys realistically think this team can make a run with the way the defense has been playing? Is Jamel Dean going to come back & light the world on fire??? Or with KJ Britt still on the damn field on passing downs? An offensive coach would have gone for 2 no question about it. I’d rather evaluate Liam on an interim basis now than fully commit to him in the offseason. Folks will point out Dirk Kotter, but I can point to what Kevin O’Connell is doing with Minny and what Zac Taylor has done in Cincy. Bowles has been the DC for 6 years yet we’re still doing the same crap over & over. His time is up.

Notice that in 2022, we tried one last run with Brady to see it balloon to our highest level in recent history. In 2023, we were paying the tab for the Brady years and boy was it worth it. Talk about no pain, as 2023 saw us making the playoffs for 4th year in a row and actually winning a game, something Baker can put his name with only Brad Johnson and Tom Brady in the last 2 decades.
This year - you will see still quite ridiculously high. The Bucs ownership feel they are playing with house money and thus no expectations really. They are paying the tab for the Super Bowl they brought us in 2020 season. Sure, they don't what Bowles to continually screw things up but baring a complete nose dive this year, its likely they return Bowles for the 2025 season, which again, still at a pretty high level of dead cap space
Bowles has 2 years left on his deal. They wont let him be coach for the 2026 season without an extension. I dont think they are going to hold this year against him. Only way he gets terminated and low percentage would be either 1 - to retain Coen or 2 - Bucs get brainfart with Belichick. Put those odds very low.
2025 season will be make or break for Todd. If they miss the playoffs, two seasons in a row, then yeah, he's likely cooked after 2025 season. Question becomes if Bowles goes like 10-7 with a playoff appearance in 2025, bucs lose first round, does he get extended with a resume of .500 record but 3 playoff appearances, given this dead cap area the Bucs are in.
I just think the Bucs Fans expectations and the Bucs management expectations might be apples and bowling balls here and thus Bowles seat may not be as hot as many would like.

Never fault the Bucs for this, but that season was doomed from the start

Sure, they don't what Bowles to continually screw things up
But that's the issue. Most people aren't blaming Bowles for the roster as currently is constructed or the dead money. Most people have issues with his in-game decisions as Head Coach, which has cost this team multiple games already this season.
He's just not a good HC. I'd say he's average at best, and that's being generous with a career 47-64 (.423) record.
The Bucs ownership feel they are playing with house money and thus no expectations really.
According to who?? Who from inside the org has said that there are no expectations? Where do you guys come up wit this stuff? For the past 2 years SR has said the ownership wants to see improvement! Last year they wanted to see a playoff win not just making it to the playoffs. That’s sounds like expectations to me. This year is no different.

I dont think any NFL team talks about low expectations or dead money woes because they are selling ticket etc, but doesn't their roster age and lack of offseason moves say it for them?
If the Bucs actually saw 2024 as a Super Bowl year they probably sign an edge rusher (we signed JPP and Barrett from the outside) and we definitely do not go with just Dennis as the other LB.
They basically signed value guys or no one, especially if you compare to the SB run up

no dispute here. i want a top 15 head coach. We had it in Dungy, we had it in Gruden, we had it in Arians. We didnt have it any other time but managed to make playoffs with Bowles twice. I think in spite of him.

How much money do you think we have to spend after we signed…Baker, Mike Evans, Tristan and Bryce Hall in the *checks notes* OFF SEASON. They signed two offensive linemen & two CBs including Hall. I wouldn’t call that lack of offseason moves. Them going with Dennis at LB I blame on Bowles & his terrible talent evaluation. Dennis was injury prone coming into the draft & still is now that’s he’s been in the league.
What does dead cap have to do with all these PREMIUM PICKS not getting to the QB

aside from the guys we brought back internally, Jordan Whitehead was the only other "big" move. the rest were simply roster fillers.
compare the 2023 and 2024 off-seasons where our biggest signings were Baker Mayfield at 1 year 4M, and bringing back Jordan Whitehead to 2020-22 off-seasons and you might get what we are talking about.
the Bucs were running it back this year with a .500 squad. If anything, i thought we got worse without Shaq, White, Davis. Sure they werent great but let's not act like Funderburk is an NFL starting cornerback.

Spot on.
But, when it does come to the roster/personnel, here’s Todd’s latest take,
“We don’t need any new players. No doubt about it," Bowles said. "If we stop making mistakes that we’re making, we’re in every game at the end. We have to turn it around and turn those losses into wins.”

Get where you're coming from but my point was where they could they resigned the guys we had (usually better than the true market) and then went after MODEST free agents. So they eelvate Dennis with no real competition. They sign Hall, against a modest FA.
Compare that to the Lions or the Bucs pre-2020 and 2020
Its not that hard to see when a team thinks it has the roster BUT FOR a few key outsiders.
We used the #5 overall pick on a MLB. Dennis is a 5th round pick backup

Geez Louise! Coach speak, right? lol
You expect the HC of the team --especially one NOT being active in trading or FA -- to say "yeah my guys suck . . . Britt couldnt play youth ball . . .?"
