He posted 11 sacks and graded out as a top-six 4-3 end by Pro Football Focus in run defense this season. "There's a chance, but I'm preparing myself to get to free agency," Tuck said. Justin " the Buc" Tuck
He's been up and down the last few years. He was up again in the contract year but before that in previous 2 years he had a total of 9 sacks - he missed 5 games in 2011 but he wasn't on a great pace that year. He's 30 as well. Plus, he gets a fair amount of his sacks from the DT spot up there so I'm not sure he is the "edge" answer.
Dalbuc is right, Tuck isn't the DE answer, but could be worth considering if his price is right. If I'm not mistaken, Gholston plays what would be his role on the team currently. However, if Gholston plays himself into a starting position during training camp, Tuck would be great to have come off the bench as a situational pass rusher.
If we can get Tuck cheap, I'm all for it. I'd be willing to pay more for Jared Allen, as he's known to Leslie Frazier quite well...
Tuck compared to what we have now is like night and day. Who could complain
Why not just get Michael Bennett back. Tuck is the older version of Bennett.
Bennett would be the dream but I think he is going to command too much money on the FA market. Mr. Licht said that he'll be looking for value in FA, so if we don't nab Bennett, I think Tuck would be that nice value at DE we could acquire.
Tuck has gotten double digit sacks multiple times. Bennett never has. He's not the older version of Michael Bennett , he's the better version.
