You're so late to the argument. Nobody that has posted recently thinks he sucks. The consensus is that he is an average passer who is dangerous because of his legs. Without his legs he is just an average QB.
That's like saying Calvin Johnson is an average receiver without his height and speed. Players aren't defined by their individual skill sets; they're defined by their total skill sets. And with his legs, Kaepernick has a very difficult to defend set of skills.

You cannot make a statement about him TAKING them to championship games without acknowledging he inherited a team that had just been to the championship game.

So if they had one down year between the old QB and the new QB like the Colts did with Manning/Luck.....then he'd be awesome. But because there was no down year before Kap took them to the Superbowl....he isn't good? Not following your logic.
J-dub, this JC5100 character always has an underlying Freeman defense built into his responses regarding other QBs. This is why he threw in the "11 game losing streak" garbage. The thing that is being ignored is that Alex Smith had some excellent performances the year before Kap took over. He was simply stellar in that victory over the Saints in the divisional round. Sure, Kap had a lot of talent around him, but it was still a team that at several points needed the QB to step up and carry the team and make a big play. Alex Smith did that in '11..and Kap has done that the last 2 years. Seems there is some overreaction to his most recent loss...a loss against one of the better defenses in the past 5 years of football, and in one of the fiercest places to play in NFL history.

But he didn't take over a 2-14 team, he took over the #2 seed team. Kaepernick (and throw in Wilson) are the flavor of the month because they QB STACKED teams. You think these guys are taking the Jaguars, Raiders and the Bucs to title games? They wouldn't even sniff the playoffs. I'm not saying he stinks. But Kaepernick is nowhere near as good as he's made out to be.
