I think after the past few games, it is fair to say that my original argument holds true. Kap is the liability on an otherwise elite roster. Alex Smith would have taken that team to the Super Bowl. Instead Kap throws mulitple picks and the niners are watching the big game from home. What a huge mistake by Jimmy boy.

Yeah. Smith woulda taken the 49ers to the Super Bowl. Just like he took the Chiefs and their elite roster to the Super Bowl. The 49ers went to the Super Bowl last year and the Championship game this year with Kap....but he is a liability? You're a clown.

I wouldnt describe the chiefs roster as elite. It isn't close to the niners. And yes Kap threw an interception to lose the game in the final seconds. Huge liability.

What about the fact that if Kap hadn't made multiple huge plays all by himself the 49ers would not have even been in that game. Kap had a chance to win the game in the final seconds, but without those huge plays he would not have even been in that position. Alex Smith would not have been in the position to win the game because he couldn't have made those plays. Kap almost took his team on his back and carried them to the Superbowl. Alex Smith can't do that. But as usual you are much smarter than Harbaugh, right?

I would't short change Alex Smith. He out dueled Drew Brees in the division round of 2011 and threw 2 TDs to 0 INTs in an overtime loss to the Giants the next week. As has already been stated, he threw for 443 yards at almost a 10 YPA clip in the loss to the Colts this season.

Alex Smith is a very conservative dink and dunk game manager.....but he is great at it. He has been one of the most dependable QBs in the league over the past 3 years.

Yes which is why I believe he would manage the game and not make those costly interceptions. San Fran can be the rare team that wins the Super Bowl without an elite playmaking QB. So much talent on both sides of the ball. And a dominant defense.
