You can't compare the two. It's like trying to compare Bambi to the Mountain Lion that is about to rip something apart. Watch Glennon roll left and throw and after that watch Kap roll left and throw. One is an NFL QB, one is a shmuck.

I understand that people aren't sold on Glennon as a starter but to say he isn't a NFL QB or he is a shmuck is stupid. There are many QBs far worse than Glennon that have had lengthy NFL careers.

Special K is what many of us hoped we had in Josh Freeman; a very talented RB with the arm of a QB and the heart of a lion. Alas, Freeman's heart simply wasn't in it... Only player I recall anything like Special K in over 50 years of NFL football was Notre Dame's all-American QB Paul Hornung. Lombardi ended up moving him to HB, where he was a legit threat to run, pass, catch, or lead block for Jim Taylor. And he was a very good place kicker too. His 176 points scored (and in a TWELVE game season) was only recently broken, but it took 16 games...

With all but 2 or 3 QBs in the league, this simple fact holds very true. A running game helps open up the passing game, and it helps a lot. Look at Glennon's games where he had a 100 yard rusher and look at games where he didn't. It's very simple, winning the LOS makes things a lot easier for the offense and defense and toward the end of the year our o-line got dominated and Glennon is no Aaron Rogers.

Bottom Line, Kap is the future. Aaron Rodgers, Andrew Luck, Russell Wilson, Ben Roethlisberger, Tony Romo, Alex Smith, RGME, Scam Newton.....this is the era of the mobile QB. Even guys like Dalton, Tannehill, and Foles are pretty mobile.   There will always be a few guys like Manning and Brady floating around, but they are the exception. Generally the teams with mobile QBs have a great advantage over the teams with statue QBs. You can't just plug in any nub that can run. It can't be Geno Smith. It has to be a legit QB that can play from the pocket and make all the decisions/throws...but when they can take off for the first down, avoid sacks, extend plays, and throw well on the run...they simply don't have to be an elite pocket passer to be an great QB. The added dimension makes things much harder on defenses and much easier on the QB. If Glennon had great agility, strength, and speed to do the thing Kap can do....Glennon would be the answer. Unfortunately he doesn't and he isn't.

And although it's much more about avoiding sacks and extending plays than actually running with the ball, it is worth noting that Eli, Peyton, Carson Palmer, and Tom Brady were the only QBs with less rushing yards than Glennon in 2013. That nonsense about Glennon being "surprisingly mobile" for his size is garbage. Nick Foles is the same exact size and he is surprisingly mobile. Glennon can run in a straight line if the opportunity is there. He has very little functional agility. He can't juke or avoid anyone. He can't throw on the run well. He doesn't have the strength to fight off a defender. He offers zero in that department.

I agree man.  I do like Glennon and all but damn, you have got to have some kind of athletic ability.  Even with Manning or Brady, if they don't get that ball out fast enough they are going down.

My wife asked me why the 49ers quarterback wasn't wearing sleeves? I said "See those tattoos? He's already got sleeves"

Lol thought Kap was a system qb?

I think one can still make a case that he's a system qb.  The thing is, that'd only be a problem if he were in an insufficiently good system.

No doubt the 49ers and the Saints have  the best offensive UNITS in football, although very different strategies. The Saints emphasize the pass more, and have the better pure passer. The 49ers have the back & O'line to make the run work, but they have some deadly weapons in the pass game that if unaccounted for can jack up Special K's passing numbers in a hurry. Adding K's run skills makes it almost unfair, as he is really a serious runner, not just a scrambler.     Glennon can run, but obviously has no agility. I think he will fare much better under Tedford's system than he did with Sullivan. The weaponry around a QB and the OCs game planning skills make a HUGE difference...

So a guy barely 6'6 is the EXACT same size as a guy almost 6'8?Glennon offers ZERO when it comes to fight of defenders? I guess the few yards a guy like Brees got in 3 more games played made NO get to the PO, right? Funny how guys talking in such absolutes are surprised that some do not buy their ...'opinion'.Without a doubt Glennon is the worst QB on the planet...Nothing wrong woth being critical, nothing wrong with having an opinion but you are far away from that.

Kap is a system QB. Put him in a pocket passer offense with no read option and multiple passing progressions to work through on each play and he would struggle.

Or you could put him in a system that suits his talents and your team can win a bunch of games. I know which option I would choose.
