Ahhhh the memories of that playoff run, where the Bucs won three games on the road only to win the Super Bowl at home.
If you could define one play that was bigger than all the rest in each game, what would it be? Here are mine:
Washington- The hit on Taylor Heineke that knocked him out of the game temporarily. He was scrambling around and hitting timely passes and keeping his team in the game and making our defense look really bad. He was like a fly that you kept swatting at but he would keep buzzing around and you couldn't get him to go away. Sure he came back in the game, but he wasn't the same, and on two of his three final drives after that hit, he got his ass kicked.
New Orleans- Very tough call here as a case could be made for knocking the punt returner out of the game or the last minute FG that tied it at the half. In the end, I have to give it to that fumble by Jared Cook that was caused by Antoine Winfield and scooped up by Devin White. Prior to that, the Saints had taken a 20-13 lead and Tampa had just come off a three and out in response to New Orleans go ahead TD. Cook had the ball and was plowing for yardage. That fumble totally changed the momentum of the game.
Green Bay- How can you not give it to the Tom Brady to Scotty Miller TD to end the first half?? Although there are two more plays where a case could be made for the key play. First was the fumble by Aaron Jones when Jordan Whitehead hit him followed by an immediately TD pass from Tom Brady to Cameron Brate. The second was the pass interference on Kevin King for pulling Tyler Johnson's jersey. That penalty extended the drive and even if Chris Godwin doesn't get that first down to ice it, Tampa would've run enough time off the clock to give the Packers only three seconds to work with after the punt.
Kansas City- So many on this one. I'll give it to Leonard Fournette's TD run in the second half. That was a dagger to the heart. Although I'd say the second touchdown pass to Gronk also has a case. That set the tone for this game and let Kansas City know that the old men (Brady and Gronk) were not going quietly into the night.
