You have full control. What do you do?
- Send White to IR to get healthy. He's useless right now
- Start Stinne at LG
- Never play a TE not named Otton for the rest of the season - limit his snap count as well
- Bench/cut Neal
- Defense switches to primary bump and run man
- Stop sending edge blitzes on third down
- Play Kancey more on the edge
- Give JTS snaps to Nelson
- Target Evans/Godwin 10x each per game
- Run more crossers, rub routes, screens, and fades
- Pass first run second. Stop going run run pass
- White dump off merchant like Kamara
- Be more aggressive on 4th downs
- Bowles pretend you are aliveĀ
- Pray to God we get Vea healthy the rest of the year
Ā
- Send White to IR to get healthy. He's useless right nowĀ -- YES
- Start Stinne at LGĀ - YES
- Never play a TE not named Otton for the rest of the season - limit his snap count as wellĀ - NO REAL CHOICE AND TE BLOCK TOO
- Bench/cut NealĀ - YES, BUT REPLACE WITH WHO?
Ā
Ā
1. *Trade White & get something in return rather than let him walk after the season
Bench Tryon, Devin White, and Ryan Neal. Bench Feiler, Otton, and Mayfield on offense.
Aim for 6 wins and maybe make a trade to acquire a day 2 pick for draft ammo.
1. Trade White, if you can't, bench him.Ā
2. Pull Feiler and Mauch for the rest of the season. Stinnie and Leverett.
3. Put Delaney in over Neal.
4. Start Trask against Houston with the advantage of the mini-bye.Ā
5. Start looking for a new HC (and begun draft prep/scouting for a new QB)
Put Delaney in over Neal.
He has to be an improvement over Neal. Neal is lost out there
Mauch played well last game... I'd like to let him play it outĀ
Fire, you have some good ideas, but I really like:
White dump off merchant like Kamara
Bench/cut Neal
Give JTS snaps to Nelson
Target Evans/Godwin 10x each per game
Like the Man Who Seeks Ass, I also think we should take advantage of the mini bye week and start Trask.

I say give Baker this last shot... if we lose and he's to blame, let's move on to Trask.
Trask won't fix it but it becomes a win/win.
Either he sucks and we tank or he outplays Baker and we improve.
I really want to see how good this defense can be when Neal/White aren't playing AND we play mainly bump and run

so the only bad loss was the falcons loss, Detroit Philadelphia and buffalo are superior teams.
falcons blow us out if not for sine turnovers. If we lose to Texans, Iām with you on the season being over.
feel trask will get 4-5 games if this season goes the way I expect it too
but it they are still competing which I think they will even with a Texans loss, baker likely in for the rest of NovemberĀ

I think this loss is on Canales as much as anybody because he deviated from his own plan, like he was overwhelmed by the moment. The OC equivalent of a QB (Mayfield) forcing a ball to a TE (Otton) that becomes an interception, even when there was a good check down option.
Ā
It's clear by now that Mayfield can't carry this team. He keeps doing what he did in the preseason, which is play safe and mostly throw short of the sticks. His intermediate passing is rarely there, and he misses on the deep balls way too often. He also fails to throw to wide open guys regularly, as this offense consistently gets at least one receiver wide open on 80-90% of the passing plays. During the Arians era I never saw Evans this wide open, this often. He was almost always tightly covered. The bottom line is that the plays are there to be made and Mayfield isn't getting it done. Whether that's due to his height, or he's processing slowly, or just getting antsy can be argued. But he's not getting it done. Time to give the guy that had nearly double the yards per reception in the preseason and was regularly getting chunk plays at QB. They won't do it, though, because Bowles loves Mayfield like he loves White. Dude can't do no wrong in Todd's eyes.

This is why there are only 3 other teams scoring less points than the Bucs.Ā
Bucs points scored 2023- 17.3 per game - 27th best
Ā
Bucs points scored 2022 - 18.4 per game - 25th best
Ā
so is it really a Baker problem?Ā Ā
Bucs points scored 2023- 17.3 per game - 27th best
Very limited amount of open receivers with a shitty OC.
Ā
Bucs points scored 2022 - 18.4 per game - 25th best
Open receivers all over the place with new OC, but the QB isn't seeing them, getting balls batted, making poor decisions, making poor throws, etc..
Ā
so is it really a Baker problem?Ā Ā
Mostly, yes.
