Doug Baldwin took umbrage with Seattle receivers being called ‘appetizers’By Stu White - Jan 20th, 2014 at 9:58 pmKeyshawn_Zps5Fc4979D.jpg After finishing Sunday’s NFC Championship Game with six receptions for 106 yards, Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Doug Baldwin explained one of the bits of criticism he used as motivation. As he shared with The Seattle Post, Baldwin said he turned on ESPN in the morning before the game and heard his fellow Seattle wide receivers referred to as “appetizers.” He didn’t much care for the characterization: Keyshawn1_Zpsc5977126.Gif Baldwin also celebrated Seattle’s thrilling victory by joking with a reporter responsible for a USA Today piece from earlier in the year that questioned Seattle’s talent at the receiver position. Baldwin found the author in the locker room after the game and had this say: “We appreciate you being in the presence of such average and pedestrian receivers.” My gut reaction: HOW COME BALDWIN COULDN’T SHOW MORE CLASS?!? IS THAT TYPE OF TAUNTING GOOD FOR THE GAME?! I THINK NOT! I. AM. OFFENDED! (That’s how writing about the Seattle Seahawks works, right?) [Source: The Seattle Post]
