Here’s where Licht wins. So many have Pitts coming to Tampa. He wont be. There is next to no scenario where a player who did well against us and only us, would come to Tampa with a lot more cash and do anything other than fade away. Pitts ain’t the guy and the dumbest thing Tampa could do is spend good money on him.
i wouldn't be opposed to Pitts at the right price; i mean, to your point, the guy is very pedestrian when he's not playing the Bucs

Peele is still on this staff and if he can coach him to block Pitts value explodes for the cost and value he will bring. Bucs don't need an elite TE with this WR/RB talent but a guy that can sometimes stretch the field ala Rickey Dudley. Bucs already have a Ken Dilger under contract which is Durham who is just as good of a blocker as Otton.

We can draft someone for TE... We can go cheaper. We can play Culp for a season.
Just do what the Rams did. Grab some JAG white dudes then run a better scheme to get them open. Make sure they can block.

I think ATL will do everything in their power to make sure Pitts doesn't come to the Bucs. That could include resigning him, tagging him, or tag and trade. If they let Pitts go they will likely get a 3rd round comp pick (end of 3rd). Is that comp pick worth it to them to see him left open to go to a division foe? It could go very badly for them, and I think they'll try to avoid that.
